🎓 The class of 2026 will be the last PFAC graduates. 🎓
After thorough discussion and thoughtful consideration, the board has voted to dissolve PFAC at the end of the 2025-26 school year.
This decision was reached by surveying cooperative members and a comprehensive review of key factors, including:
➡️ An assessment of the preschool’s current and projected financial position
➡️ A continued decline in preschool enrolment over the past several years
➡️ Confirmation of how many current board members plan to continue next year
➡️ Survey responses regarding members' willingness to serve on the future board
➡️ A noted decline in volunteer participation over recent years
➡️ The significant impact of staffing changes, including the retirement of Teacher Jodi and the subsequent resignations of Teacher Laura and Des, our PFAC bookkeeper
While this decision is difficult and deeply saddening for all of us, the financial outlook makes it challenging—and ultimately not responsible—to hire new teaching staff, secure a new bookkeeper, and fill board vacancies knowing that the risk of dissolution after the 2026–27 school year remains high.
The 2025–26 school year will proceed as planned. Families registered for the 2026–27 school year have now been issued refunds. If you have not received yours, please email us!
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Teacher Jodi, Teacher Laura, and Des for their dedication, compassion, and many years of service to PFAC. Their contributions have shaped countless lives, and we are profoundly grateful for all they have given to this community. 🧡💛💚

đź’› A Heartfelt Announcement from PFAC đź’›
We have some bittersweet news to share. Teacher Jodi will be retiring at the end of this school year (June 2026), and Teacher Laura has also decided to step away from PFAC at this time. While we are genuinely excited for the next chapters they are beginning, we are—selfishly—so very sad to see them go. There is no denying that our teachers are truly the heart of PFAC.
Teacher Jodi has dedicated over 15 incredible years to our preschool, leaving a lasting mark on countless children, families, and colleagues. Her passion, dedication, and care have shaped our community in immeasurable ways. A simple thank you hardly feels enough for all she has given.
Teacher Laura has been part of the PFAC family for more than 5 years, bringing a warm, welcoming presence that helped so many little ones overcome first‑day jitters and begin their preschool journey with confidence and joy.
We’d also like to recognize Des, our longtime bookkeeper (and Teacher Jodi’s husband), who will be stepping down effective July 31, 2026. Though often behind the scenes, Des has supported both PFAC and Jodi with dedication for many years, and we are deeply grateful for all he has done.
Please join us in celebrating and thanking Teacher Jodi, Teacher Laura, and Des for their years of commitment, love, and service to the PFAC community. 🧡💛💚

💡 Kindergarten readiness isn’t just about academics—it’s also about emotional readiness and self-regulation.
We believe in this so much that we wrote a blog post with a free printable detailing the foundational skills kids need BEFORE academics. You can find that here:

🧠Skills like managing big feelings, following routines, and calming down when upset are just as important for success in school as academics. Helping kids build these skills early sets the stage for confident, happy learners! 🌟

Do.uou have a stroller to donate?
A stroller can make a big difference for a young family.
Our Young Parent Program is currently in need of stroller donations. Any kind, any size is appreciated. An old umbrella stroller sitting in your garage? A stroller base that’s missing the car seat? We’ll happily take it. We just ask that strollers are in good, usable condition.
Donations can be dropped off during office hours at Family Service Regina.
