LUSA strives to be active and contribute to the University of Regina community and to the city. LUSA is collaborating with Art of Living UofR to bring you a mindfulness session on April 9th at 12pm. This will be in hybrid format so you can attend in-person in LC 207 or over zoom.
This is a great way to relax and control stress levels right before finals so that you can get the best studying in!

Dr. Sarah Zanette is an applied developmental psychologist with research interests that lie at the intersections of social, moral, and forensic psychology. She received her PhD in Developmental Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto and joined Luther College as an Assistant Professor in July of 2021. Dr. Zanette currently teaches courses in introductory psychology (PSYC 101), lifespan development (PSYC 210), and social-emotional development and applications (PSYC 415AE).
Dr. Zanette's research focuses on improving our understanding of childhood deception (i.e., lying and cheating) and applying this knowledge to legal, forensic, clinical, and parenting contexts. Specifically, she investigates two core research questions: (1) how do children learn to deceive and develop patterns of typical and atypical lie-telling; and (2) how can children's lies be reliably detected in low- and high-stakes contexts?

Scott J. Wilson is an English Instructor and the Coordinator of Luther College's Writing Across the Disciplines Program.
His teaching, beyond interdisciplinary academic reading and writing skills, includes illness narratives, transgressive fiction, masculinities, media discourse, serial killers, and graphic novels.
He has worked for the University of Regina Student Success Centre Writing Service as their Writing Coordinator and was also the Administrator of the University of Regina Centre on Aging and Health.

Imagination, Wonder, and Curiosity: Researching Magic and Witchcraft in the History of Europe
Dr. Yvonne Petry is a Professor of History and the Dean of Luther
College. She teaches courses in Early Modern European History, that
is, the period of the Renaissance, Reformation, Witch Hunts, and the
Scientific Revolution. She teaches courses on all these topics, as
well as courses on the history of gender and the history of medicine. As
a specialist in French history, her research involves reading
sixteenth-century French medical books. She pursues questions around
the intersections between magic, religion, and medicine in this
period. As both a dean and a professor, she enjoys working with
students to help them reach their potential.
