We are excited to host Dr. Muhammad Asadullah who will discuss a new book he has co-authored titled Restorative Justice in Canada. He will explore what it means to teach and practice restorative justice in a settler-colonial country, how the field extends beyond courtrooms into classrooms, prisons, and communities, and what is gained — and what is put at risk — when a fundamentally relational practice meets the institutions of the state. Details are at https://uregina.libcal.com/event/4076290.

Wednesday, September 30th, is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a federal holiday when we commemorate the tragic history and legacy of residential schools, remember those who were lost, and honour survivors and their families. In this photo, Archer Library and Archives staff are wearing orange shirts in solidarity.

In observance of this holiday, the Archer Library and Archives will be open for reduced hours tomorrow: 12:00 pm until 5 pm, with the Help Desk shutting down 15 minutes prior to building closing. Normal operating hours will resume the following day, Thursday, October 1st.

Join two of Canada’s most beloved trans authors, Vivek Shraya and Kai Cheng Thom, as they celebrate the release of two new works of fiction, Shraya’s The Hystericals, and Thom’s The Shapeshifter’s Guide to Gym Class. These books explore dystopian and utopian worlds that are frightening, fantastical, and not so far away from the world we live in today.

A reception will follow, and the University Campus Store will be on site to sell copies of both books.

October 13th, 7 PM, at Darke Hall, Regina.

Admission is free but registration is recommended: https://purchase.darkehall.ca/EventAvailability?EventId=38401 (click "Book Now").
