RCSTA was happy to join in welcoming this year’s Regina Catholic Schools interns as they begin the next exciting step in their journey toward becoming teachers!

We wish each of them an incredible internship filled with learning, new experiences, meaningful relationships, and plenty of great moments with students and colleagues.

We hope this is just the beginning of their time with Regina Catholic and that, before long, we’ll have the opportunity to welcome them back — not as interns, but as colleagues and members of our association!

Have a fantastic internship!

October – Protect Your Energy

Teachers give so much of themselves every day. Pay attention to what fills your cup and what drains it. Small actions like taking a proper lunch break, getting outside for fresh air, or connecting with a colleague can make a significant difference.

Wellness Challenge: Take one uninterrupted lunch break this week.

Today, the RCSTA office is closed in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

September 30 is a day to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and the generations of Indigenous Peoples who continue to be impacted by the residential school system.

As educators, we have an important responsibility to listen, learn, reflect, and ensure that the truths of our shared history are taught and remembered.

Reconciliation is not the work of one day. It requires ongoing learning, meaningful action, and a commitment to building relationships rooted in respect and understanding.

Today, we encourage our members to take time to reflect on the role we each play in advancing reconciliation in our schools and communities.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

💚 Many hands makes light work! 💛

A huge thank you to these wonderful RCSTA Wellness Committee members who gave up their evening to help organize and prepare our teacher wellness packages for mailbag distribution!

We know how much our members give to their students, schools, and communities every single day. That’s why it’s so important to make time for ourselves, prioritize our own well-being, and recharge. Taking care of ourselves helps us continue to show up with the energy, patience, and care our students deserve.

Enjoy and be well!

Our students deserve better. Strong public education depends on classrooms with the resources and support students need to learn and thrive.

When education funding is cut, students feel the impact. We will keep advocating for the investment our schools, students, and members deserve.

Thank you to the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation for a meaningful Fall LINC Day. Today’s professional learning gave local bargaining teams time to explore the duty to bargain, collective bargaining legislation, ways to engage members throughout negotiations.

The LINC team is leaving feeling inspired and better prepared for the work ahead. Our RCSTA members deserve a fair local agreement, and we’re ready to keep working toward one!

Jillian Laursen, President, Tara L. Fischer, Vice-President, and Chris Kampman, Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation Provincial Executive member, RCSTA Executive Councillor, and LINC Chair, were proud to represent our local at the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Fall Presidents’ Gathering in Saskatoon.

A major focus of the day was violence in the classroom, including the importance of reporting incidents and ensuring accurate documentation. These conversations highlighted the need to continue advocating for safer learning and working environments for both students and teachers.

The gathering also featured updates from the STF, government relations discussions, information on local association grants and resolutions, changes to long-term disability, and conversations about supporting increasingly complex and neuroaffirming classrooms.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to connect with local leaders from across Saskatchewan, share experiences, and strengthen our collective voice in support of public education.
