University of Regina Students’ Union (URSU)

Pursuant to The Non-Profit Corporations Act, 2022 (Saskatchewan) and the URSU bylaws, notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the members of URSU will be held:

Date: Tuesday, October 21st, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (CST)
Format: Online-only. The meeting link will be emailed to registered members.

Purpose of the Meeting

The sole purpose of this meeting is to consider and vote on the special resolution for dissolution

Important Voting Instructions

Voted exactly as circulated; amendments/substitutions are out of order.
Voting will be by secret electronic ballot during the meeting.
Members may vote Yes (in favour), No (opposed), or Abstain.
The resolution requires approval by at least two-thirds (2/3) of votes cast to pass.
Eligibility

If you are a registered, student-union fee-paying student at the University of Regina or its Federated Colleges (except those in ESL classes), you are a member of URSU and eligible to attend and vote.

How to Participate

Carry-over: Members who registered for the adjourned SGM on Sept. 24th, 2025 are automatically registered—no action needed.

Eligibility & Access

● This is a members’ meeting. Only fee-paying URSU student members (excluding ESL) may attend and vote.

Reason for Change

Due to repeated venue cancellations outside URSU’s control, the SGM will proceed online-only to ensure all members can exercise their voting rights safely and without disruption.

Purpose of the Meeting: The sole purpose of this meeting is to consider and vote on a special resolution to dissolve URSU.

Important Voting Instructions:
The resolution will be presented exactly as written.

Members may vote Yes (in favour), No (opposed), or Abstain.

The resolution requires approval by at least two-thirds (2/3) of votes cast in order to pass.

No amendments, substitutions, or additional motions will be accepted from the floor.

If the resolution does not pass, the matter of dissolution (or any substantially similar proposal) cannot be reconsidered for six (6) months following this meeting.

Eligibility:
If you are a registered, student union fee-paying student at the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges (except those in ESL classes) then you are an URSU member and eligible to attend and vote.
