March 31 marks National Indigenous Languages Day, a time to recognize and honour more than 70 Indigenous languages spoken across Canada. Indigenous languages are deeply connected to identity, culture and the passing of knowledge across generations. This day reminds us of the importance of supporting Indigenous language reclamation, revitalisation, and preservation.

We are proud to announce that the University of Regina with the Child Trauma Research Centre have been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation Provincial Maternal and Pediatric Research Fund. This funding allows us to continue to grow with and for the province of Saskatchewan in our goal to mitigate and prevent the short-term and long-term impacts of childhood trauma.

We are so grateful to the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation and to everyone who has supported us over the years. The CTRC, as it is today, would not be possible without the support from the University of Regina, our fierce supporters, and those with whom we have worked since our inception in 2020.

Here is to many years of possibilities!

Racism and discrimination continue to affect communities around the globe. This day reminds us of the importance of actively standing up against racism and discrimination, while promoting equality and respect.

March 8th, 2026, is International Women’s Day. This global day recognizes and celebrates the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women. It also raises awareness about the importance of gender equality and collective action.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support, reminding us that contributing to women’s advancement strengthens and creates equitable communities.

Every February, the colour pink appears in schools across Canada not as a fashion choice, but as a collective stance against bullying. Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when two Nova Scotia students chose to act after witnessing a classmate being bullied for wearing pink. Their decision sparked solidarity across their school and beyond. Today, bullying remains a serious issue, with many youth reporting experiences that often go unspoken. In digital spaces, harassment can follow young people beyond school walls. Meaningful change begins when we show up, speak up, and recognize youth as partners in creating safer communities.
