The result is that nowadays there are 16 different types of plugs in the world. Each of them receives a letter to name it. We can find everything from type A to type N plugs, but... which one is used in the UK and which one is used in the USA and Canada? 🤔🤔


🔌 If you said "G" for UK and "A" for USA & Canada you are correct!

🔌 In the United States of America and in Canada the power plugs and sockets are of type A and B. The standard voltage is 120 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz.

🔌 For United Kingdom the associated plug type is G, which is the plug that three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. United Kingdom operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Generally, there are four distinct seasons to the UK; summer, winter, spring and autumn:

🍂 Temperatures during autumn will generally be anywhere from 5 to 15°C, but fall can provide beautiful weather, especially in light of the long dreary winter ahead.

The UK is an island, so it receives a large amount of rain. It can rain during any season and on any given day – so bring your umbrella! ☂️ ☂️ ☂️

Before beginning your application it is important to familiarize yourself with key UCAS deadlines. Some universities (Cambridge and Oxford) and courses (medicine, veterinary medicine and dentistry) have much earlier deadlines and it is important you are fully aware of those which impact your application.

🏫 Undergraduate education in Canada follows completion of senior secondary or high school.

🏫 The full duration of a standard undergraduate education (culminating in a bachelor's degree) is three to five years.

🏫 International students should budget a minimum of four years to complete a bachelor's (undergraduate) degree. With a completed bachelor's degree, and the right combination of language skills and experience, international students may become eligible for a number of provincial and federal immigration programs!

🎓 You may also decide to pursue a Master's degree, which requires completion of a bachelor's degree. Canada also offers a number of certificates, diplomas, and Associate Degrees at the undergraduate level.

🎓 While these do not qualify students to undertake Master's degree in Canada, they may be useful for immigration or employment purposes.

Every bank has its requirements, but most common ones are: your passport, landing documents or Temporary Resident Visa, proof of enrollment and Social Insurance Number (SIN) or proof of residence.

💳 Choose an account type:
There are two main types of bank accounts in Canada: chequing account and savings account.

To study in the US at the undergraduate or graduate level, English language competency is essential!

To make sure international students are set up for success, most universities in the US have English language requirements during the international student application and admissions process 🗣️ Most schools rely on the following standardized English language tests: PTE, TOEFL, and the IELTS.

Each university or college is free to establish the minimum grade you need in order to be admitted. Most educational institutions require:

📝 A minimum score of 6.0 or 6.5 for IELTS Academic. Some universities accept scores as low as 5.0 – 5.5.
📝 A minimum score of 70 – 80 for TOEFL® iBT. Some universities accept scores as low as 65.
📝 A minimum score of 55 – 60 for PTE Academic. Some universities accept scores as low as 50.

While most US universities and colleges will accept any of these three tests, some may require you to take a specific US language test!

Remember to clarify any requirements with the admissions office of the universities you are applying to in advance – this way, you won’t waste time and/or money taking an English language test the university won’t accept! 🙌🏿 🙌🏿
