A BITTERSWEET FAREWELL ✨️🥹

Today was Sarah’s last day with us as one of our regular after-school educators, and while we are so happy for her as she heads off to university, saying goodbye is never easy. 🥹

For the past few years, Sarah has been such a special part of our Centre and of the children’s lives. Sarah is gentle, kind, soft-spoken and so sweet - with a quiet way of always making the children feel safe, cared for and loved. She has always been reliable, responsible, respectful, and we have always known we could count on her.

The children absolutely adore Sarah — and we do too. 🩷

Sarah, thank you for every morning you showed up, every little hand you've held, every story you've read, every game you played, every smile you shared, every floor you’ve mopped, and all the little moments in between. You have made a difference here, and you will be so very missed (luckily we will still get to see Sarah when she's home from school).

We are incredibly proud of you and wish you nothing but happiness and success 🌿

Redvers Early Learning and Child Care Centres Inc. is seeking positive, passionate, motivated, enthusiastic and caring high-school students with a love for children to join our team!

We are looking to hire before/after-school educators - we have 2-3 positions open to High School students who are 16 years of age or older.

A criminal record check is required. Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CPR Level C.

After-school educators are generally responsible for walking school-age children to and from school, caring for the school-age children, and end-of-the-day cleaning tasks. There are also opportunities to work extra hours and participate in special activities on non-school days.

✨️They were building more than just towers ✨️

These little builders were busy stacking blocks today. They were so immersed in their play that they didn't even realize they were learning.

That's the beauty of play - when children are curious, engaged, and having fun, learning happens naturally.

As children explore with blocks, they are developing:

🧠 Cognitive skills such as problem-solving, planning & prediction, critical thinking, creativity & imagination

✋Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

💡Early math skills such as balance, counting, patterns, shapes, size, and spatial awareness

⚖️ Science and engineering concepts such as balance, gravity, stability and structural design

🤝 Social and emotional skills such as turn-taking, teamwork, sharing, resilience & perseverance when the tower tumbled and they tried again, patience, pride in their work, and self-confidence

Play is the work of childhood and proof that the best kind of learning doesn't always look like a lesson. Even simple experiences like block building help shape capable, confident, and curious learners.

We love watching their curious minds explore, create, and discover together! 🌿❤️
