🏒 PARKSIDE ELECTIVE SPOTLIGHT – SAHA HIGH PERFORMANCE 🏒

For students who love hockey and want to take their game to the next level, SAHA High Performance with Mr Toews gives our Parkside student-athletes the opportunity to develop both on and off the ice.

This year, we have joined with Margaret Wooding School and Seven Persons School, creating an exciting opportunity for students from all three schools to learn, train and grow together.

Through focused skill development, training and conditioning, students work on becoming stronger, more confident and well-rounded athletes.

But SAHA High Performance is about more than just hockey! Mr Toews also works with students on discipline, leadership, teamwork, responsibility and developing a strong work ethic — skills that are just as important off the ice as they are on it.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to combine their education with their passion for hockey. 🏒📚

Work hard. Train hard. Play hard. 💪🏒

🎲♟️ PARKSIDE ELECTIVE SPOTLIGHT – GAMES & STRATEGY ♟️🎲

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Games & Strategy with Mrs Forbes!

There’s always someone looking for a little “Trouble” 😜, while Chess continues to be a firm favourite with students looking to put their strategic thinking to the test.

Students can also dive into Magic: The Gathering, a strategic card game where players build their own decks of spells and creatures, then try to outmaneuver their opponents in a tactical battle of wits. 🧙‍♂️🃏

Whether it’s planning your next move, thinking several steps ahead, or simply enjoying some friendly competition, Games & Strategy is a great way to have fun while putting those problem-solving skills to work!

🎲 Think ahead. Make your move. Game on!

🏒 SAHA U15 Prep – Weekend Recap 🏒

Our U15 Prep Team travelled to Calgary this weekend for a pair of games against CIHA (Calgary International Hockey Academy).

On Saturday, the boys worked hard and battled throughout the game. A lapse in the second period, with a few mistakes with the puck and some extended shifts, allowed CIHA to capitalize. Despite the setback, the boys never quit and continued to battle right until the final buzzer, eventually falling 4–2.

Sunday was a different story! 💪

The boys made some adjustments to their game plan from Saturday and executed them extremely well. There were no passengers — everyone contributed, competed and worked for one another. We also saw some huge, timely saves when they were needed most, not only on Sunday but throughout the entire weekend. 🥅👏

All the hard work the boys have been putting in over the past couple of weeks paid off as they came away with an impressive 7–2 WIN! 🎉

And an extra special achievement — they became the first U15 Prep Team to beat CIHA in Calgary! 🏆

It was great to see the boys rewarded for their hard work, determination and willingness to make adjustments and come back stronger the next day.

Fantastic weekend, boys! 🏒💙🤍🖤
