With a balance of play, hands on learning and activities children thrive in smaller group sizes, with more 1:1 attention and the ability to have the space to be free. 🌱

🦆 Ducks! We have been learning about the ducks, what they eat and how we care for them. We have been thinking about what they will need for winter and brainstorming plans. We have learned the difference between a male and female, signs and sounds associated! Part of our day is checking on our ducks, feeding and providing fresh water and snacks! Children learning to care for something other than themselves teaches empathy and builds confidence.

As we look ahead to fall and winter we prepare to dress for the weather and continue on. Our children are not familiar with “bad weather” they are exposed to elements to learn they can have fun in anything with appropriate gear. On a cold and snowy day we hear” when can we go outside” not let’s stay in. This mindset takes exposure and leading by example! ✨

Garden exploration week 🌱 we painted with mud, crafted with seasonal blooms, picked berries and fresh veggies, and strengthened our relationships during free play. I love seeing the creativity that arises during each experience, some children planning for making a pie at home, others getting new ideas of how to make crafts out of their own garden flowers 🌹
