Alphabet Daycare Red Deer

Owl Room
Owl children explored a construction site sensory bin using toy excavators, dump trucks, rocks, sand, and loose parts to build, dig, and transport materials. As they worked together, they demonstrated curiosity, cooperation, and problem-solving by planning where to move materials and figuring out how to operate the vehicles. This experience encouraged imaginative play, fine motor development, and an understanding of how construction sites work.

Koala Room

Today the Koala children worked together to feed the Hungry Caterpillar. During the activity they displayed their playful disposition when exploring and imagining.

Alligator Room
Today, the Alligator children explored a swamp and the adjacent land habitat. They observed and learned about the animals that live in both environments. This activity enhanced their understanding of different habitats, observation skills, curiosity, and appreciation for nature.

Penguin Room

Today, Penguin children explored different landscape from snowy mountains and sandy desert to grassy fields and oceans. Through imaginative play, they discovered animals, nature and the unique environment that make our world so amazing. This activity encouraged creativity and curiosity of exploring our planet.

Alligator room
Today, the Alligator children participated in a fine motor activity where they used pool noodles, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners to create a variety of structures. Their creations included cars, flowers, and even a tropical vacation drink. This manipulative experience enhanced their fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness as they explored different ways to design and construct their projects.

Pony room
Pony children were invited to match the puzzle pieces to create different emotion faces. This activity supported emotional awareness, communication, and fine motor development.

Sloth Room
Sloth children nurtured their caring and playful dispositions as they helped rescue the bugs using some tongs. Through this activity, they developed their fine motor skills while playfully exploring the properties of objects.

Owl room
Owl children participated in a bug rescue activity where they worked together to remove bugs trapped in sticky mud using tongs and their hands. As they carefully picked up each bug, they practiced their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving abilities while exploring different ways to free them from the mud. The children also counted the bugs they rescued, supporting their early math skills and demonstrating the learning dispositions of perseverance, curiosity, and cooperation.

Sloth Room
Sloth children participated in exploring the flower soup sensory activity. During this activity, they were engaged in pretend play while enhancing their fine motor skills through pouring, mixing, and transferring the soup and flowers.

Koala room
Today the Koala children painted with different sized circles. During the activity they displayed their seeking disposition when being curious and wondering.
