Open House October 17th! 🎉

Open House brings together every program and service at RDP to welcome in the community for a VIP campus experience!

On Saturday, Oct 17, from 9 am to 2 pm, you can tour the facilities, attend program specific sessions, try out interactive demos & labs, and apply for FREE.

Registration is not required, but those who do register are entered to win an RDP swag bag.

Attendees can also enter to win one of 2 tuition vouchers valued at $2,500 each!

Join us as we raise the Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Métis flags in honour of Truth and Reconciliation.

Come together over a warm meal and open conversation about Truth and Reconciliation and what it means to you.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. RDP will be closed in recognition of the day.

A reminder that National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is on September 30 and RDP campus is closed to commemorate the day. On September 28 (Monday), in recognition of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, RDP Indigenous Services will be hosting a flag raising at 9:00 am outside the main entrance and Bannock Tacos at Noon in Cenovus Energy Learning Common - Staff, Faculty and Students are encouraged to join. A new academic year is here, and we have lots happening throughout September! Whether you’re looking to connect with community, build your academic skills, learn something new, or simply spend some time in the Indigenous Student Centre, we’d love to have you join us.

Start the year in a good way with a Welcome Smudge, refreshments, swag bags, door prizes, and a chance to meet the Indigenous Services team and connect with other students!

📚 September 22 | Lunch & Learn: Time Management & Study Skills
12–1 PM | Pónokaisissáhta Indigenous Student Centre (1007B)
Learn practical tips and techniques to strengthen your study habits, manage your time and set yourself up for academic success.

Join Beverly Beaverbones for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to create your own Orange Shirt Day beaded pin.

Join Counsellor Brenda Desjarlais for a traditional, experiential gathering focused on dialogue, sharing, connection and community. All students are welcome to share, listen, or simply be with us. Smudging with sage will occur during the session.

The position sets the vision and direction for Indigenous education and provides leadership to Red Deer Polytechnic’s institutional response and commitment to decolonization, truth and reconciliation, anti-oppressive education, and the development and organization of services and initiatives that support excellence in post-secondary Indigenous education and the success of Indigenous students at Red Deer Polytechnic.

This position provides leadership as a conduit to many relationships internal and external. From students to Indigenous communities and stakeholders, this position ensures that institutional initiatives and engagement are implemented in a way that supports these communities and the strategic direction.

Red Deer Polytechnic’s main campus is located on Treaty 7, Treaty 6 and Métis ancestral lands. This is where we will strive to honour and transform our relationships with one another.
