Today was an adventure! 😉
We experienced about 15 different weather patterns in a day 😋 - sun, rain, wind… wash, rinse & repeat!! ☀️☔️
But still - Field Day was a lot of fun!
It’s all on what you make it, right?! 😊

A GIGANTIC thank you to Me Strome , Mrs Mottus-Landry & Mrs Prins, as well as Mrs Moltzahn & Mrs Holder for the months of prep, planning & exhaustive hard work they put into planning all the events & details for us!! ⭐️
Thank you also to Leadership 7/8 for their behind the scenes work too!! 🥳

Today really was a great day!!! 🎉

For Field Day this year, our principal Mr Kooman travelled the world to carry a torch from Ancient Athens to officially kick off our games this morning. 🔥

Bower Ponds is the best place for a kinder year end field trip - just ask them!
All three of our kindergarten classes got to go play at the park, watch the baby geese & ducks, do a little pond study & have a picnic!! 🧺 🦆🛝

Sienna was named the overall provincial winner of the Alberta Braille Challenge earlier this spring and is headed to an international stage in California for the next Division of the Braille Challenge.

Sienna was recognized by the RDPSD Board & Superintendents last month. There, Sienna joked she has been “crowned” the winner but no crown. 😋

RDPSD Board Chair Nicole Buchanan was very impressed with Sienna’s determination & intelligence and definitely with her humility & humor.
Ms Buchanan agreed it was silly for no reward & came to 1/2W this past week to present Sienna with her own crown! 👑

Sienna is now completely ready to take the International stage in California in just over a week!! ⭐️

Leadership 7/8 planned a super fun school wide “Anything But A Backpack Day”. 🎉
Our students (and some staff) understood the assignment on Thursday!! 🧰🧺🪣

It was STEM Day in 1/2W this week! 🧱🔨💭

Students got to build whatever they wanted in teams with materials they found in the room.

They also had a new magnetic marble run that they got to explore.
It was a fun learning time!
