Regulations matter!

Did you know that a child care program must show how they intentionally plan for and observe children? In our spaces we use a living wall. This allows children and adults to see the visible learning occurring in our space everyday.

Allowing mixed age groups in childcare means siblings get opportunities to connect throughout the day.

Even the littlest ones find joy in routines! A song, a game, and a short interactive story before meal time helps everyone reconnect after morning drop off.

This week the children are learning how to finger knit. We demonstrate and guide them through the process, but ultimately each child may discover their own way of achieving the same result.

Complex fine motor tasks, such as Waldorf-based handwork, help prepare our 4- and 5-year-old children for writing during their school years.

Regulations matter!

Did you know that all Alberta-licensed child care facilities must serve what is listed on their menu at every meal? If changes are made, the facility must have a plan in place to ensure families are notified of the change. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in a non-compliance notice from Child Care Licensing.

At Wonderflow, we typically keep it simple by adding a sticky-note revision to the menu posted in each drop-off area.
