Learning by doing! Students from Vista Grande joined the CASI program at Red Deer Polytechnic along with other students from RDPSD to learn about circuits and build their own battery-operated cars. The CACI program (the Central Alberta Collegiate Institute trades program) is an educational partnership designed to provide dual-credit skilled trades training and career coaching for middle school and high school students (Grades 8 through 12) across central Alberta. It was a fun day of creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning!

Orange Shirt Day at EVG

Today, our school community came together to commemorate Orange Shirt Day and reflect on the importance of truth, reconciliation, and the message that Every Child Matters.

A very special thank you to our Grade 3 students for hosting our school assembly and helping us recognise the significance of this important day.

We were also amazed by the incredible participation from our students and staff! Everywhere you looked, EVG was a sea of orange. Thank you to everyone who wore orange and helped demonstrate our shared commitment to learning, remembering, and walking together toward reconciliation.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

🌎 National Hispanic Heritage Month Continues at EVG! 🌎

The celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month continues throughout Escuela Vista Grande! Our school has been filled with the sounds, colours, and creativity of Hispanic cultures as students learn, create, and celebrate together.

Hispanic music has been playing throughout our hallways, students have been busy creating beautiful art projects, and our halls are coming alive with colourful displays celebrating the rich cultures and traditions of the Hispanic world.

We love seeing our students learning more about the cultures connected to our Spanish bilingual community and celebrating the diversity that makes EVG such a special place.

¡Seguimos celebrando juntos el Mes de la Herencia Hispana! 🌎

🍁Better late than never! 🍁

Last week, our Jaguares laced up their runners and took part in our annual Terry Fox Run! It was wonderful to see our students and staff come together to honour Terry’s incredible legacy and continue his message of courage, determination, and hope.

Thanks to the generosity of our EVG community, we raised over $500 through our Toonies for Terry campaign!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and participated. We are so proud of our Jaguares for helping to make a difference!

¡Muy bien, Jaguares! Juntos podemos hacer la diferencia.
