Celebrating Mme de Champlain ✨
We recently gathered to celebrate and honour our principal, Mme de Champlain, as she prepares to embark on a new chapter. Over the past seven years at St. Martin de Porres, she has been an exemplary leader, mentor, and unwavering supporter of our entire school community.
As a fine arts school, we have been incredibly blessed by her vibrant vision. Mme de Champlain deeply understood how creativity and the arts enrich a child’s education, seamlessly weaving this passion into our school’s identity and allowing it to flourish. Beyond her vision for the arts, she possesses an incredible gift for making every student, staff member, and parent feel genuinely valued and seen—always leading with grace, humility, and her signature warmth. Known for her wonderful hospitality, she consistently used the joy of shared food to bring people together and build community.
Ultimately, her leadership has left a lasting legacy on our school’s culture. She cultivated a nurturing environment where educators felt supported to innovate, students felt safe to learn from their mistakes, and families knew their children were deeply cared for each and every day. She truly modeled leadership defined by compassion, encouragement, and deep faith.
Pictured here is a heartfelt gift presented to Mme de Champlain from our entire school community—a small token of our immense gratitude for her seven years of dedication.
While she will be greatly missed, we are so excited for her as she begins her next chapter as principal of Maryview School. Thank you, Mme de Champlain, for leading us with your whole heart. We wish you the absolute best on your new journey! 💙

Last week of school we received a surprise visit from Sark and Griffin! These former Grade 5 students from the Class of 2021–2022 stopped by to see the SMP staff still at the school. They brought treats to thank their elementary teachers and principal for all the support and memories from their years at SMP. They even got to meet the little boy one of their teachers was on maternity leave for! It was wonderful catching up and seeing how much they’ve grown! 💙

Congratulations to our Kindergarten students as they move on to Grade 1! 🎉 Our kinders worked so hard on their literacy skills this year, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.
We also say farewell to Mrs. Mykytyshyn as she transfers to Holy Family. We are so grateful for the passion, hard work, and love you shared with our school and Kindergarten students each day. Thank you for everything you have done, and we wish you all the very best in this next chapter! ❤️
