These 30 goalies that took part in the Elite Foundations camp this week made it a top 3 favorite week of camps in SITN history. The goalies brought it on the ice, picked up new mental skills and worked hard while having a blast at dryland. Good luck to this amazing group of goalies as their seasons begin in the coming weeks!

It’s week 6 of camp season, but the coaches are still dialled. The summer grind is real but our crew brings the energy and details every single week!

The Minj camp also completed last week. It’s always a great quick few days where goalies of all ages and skill levels can get out and get what they need, whether it’s getting the rust off or prepping for evals. Another great group of kids!

We have officially completed 10 years of quality goalie instruction in Central Alberta! The memories, the goalies, the coaches, the parents. It’s been an absolutely amazing ride. On to the next 10!
How important are angles?
Sometimes as goalies, we have no idea how big we look in the net especially from shots below the dots. When we understand that a proper angle without aggressive depth can take away nearly the whole net, we begin to understand just how difficult we are to score on.
When we don’t understand our angles, we don’t take full advantage of the fact that the net is only actually 6 feet wide from dead centre and we think we have to do way more to make save that should require minimal movement.

Our Prep camp this year was a 2:1 ratio all week and we saw some big time improvements from session 1 to session 8. Both our groups pushed themselves and each athlete was able to develop strong habits and set themselves up for the upcoming season. This was a great week! Looking forward to both Sharp Skills and Mini camp starting next week.

We have some amazing coaches on our team, but today let’s take a second to celebrate cameron_labrosse (Juice)!
Cam is on pace to lead all coaches in sessions worked this summer and it’s not even close. He goes about his business quietly and always skates around with a light hearted care free smile on his face. His focus to detail is not forgotten and if you watch the end of every session when Cam is on the ice he is easy to find, because all the goalies tend to gravitate towards him.
We’re fortunate to have Juice working day and night with all our goalies!

Kraymer joins the Olds Grizzlys as our new Goalie Coach, bringing more than 15 years of experience developing goaltenders.
The founder of Red Deer-based Stable in the Net, Kraymer previously served as Goalie Coach with the Red Deer Rebels from 2018 to 2021.
He now returns to junior hockey ready to work with our goaltenders and proudly wear the Grizzlys crest this season.

What better day to announce our first annual SITN golf tournament than the eve of The Masters!
The date has been set, the site has been picked and menu is spoken for.
