hool-aged children and provide receipts for income tax purposes. Learning through play is one of my guiding principles. A typical day includes circle time, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and hands-on learning opportunities. We do guided activities each day that are inspired by the kids’ interests. There is a large learning room that is divided into different spaces for the children to play and explore: Home centre, Construction centre, Creative centre, Sensory area, Science & Nature centre. I also plan fun field trips at least once a month to the park, tree house, splash park, library, and other fun places in Red Deer. I provide the children with nutritious, home made meals every day. They are served breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. I follow the Canada Food Guide and post a weekly menu for the parents to see. I am English-Spanish bilingual and teach the children in both languages. The goal is to help prepare the children for Kindergarten by teaching them fundamental concepts with fun, hands-on activities. I follow a Reggio-inspired approach, which encourages children to learn about community, respect, and responsibility by allowing them a safe and stimulating place to learn through play. I am a loving, responsible, and caring person with over 20 years of experience in child care. I am passionate about children! I believe each child should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. I am an Early Childhood Educator with certifications in First Aid & CPR (for children and adults), Early Childhood Diploma, criminal background check, and welfare check. I also take 3 courses a year to ensure I am up to date with the latest information on child development. I have lots of references available!
