Congratulations to the students who recently completed the Introduction to Heavy Equipment Operator program at Aurora College’s Thebacha Campus in Fort Smith!

The training was supported by the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation and sponsored by Tłı̨chǫ Government, helping create pathways for Tłı̨chǫ learners to gain practical skills, training and experience for careers in the trades and heavy equipment sector.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples

Today, on the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, we recognize the strength, resilience, and leadership of Indigenous peoples around the world.
For our Tłı̨chǫ Nation, this day is a reminder that our language, culture, laws, and relationship with the land continue to guide who we are and where we are going. Through the vision of our Elders, the leadership of our people, and the determination of each new generation, we continue to strengthen our self-government and build a future rooted in Tłı̨chǫ values.

The Tłı̨chǫ Nation has always been a people of strength. From the signing of Treaty 11 in 1921 to the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement in 2003, our Nation has continued to advance our rights, protect our lands, and create opportunities for future generations. Today, we carry that work forward by investing in our language, supporting our youth, protecting our lands, strengthening our communities, and exercising our right to self-government.

On this day, we honour our Elders who continue to share their knowledge, celebrate our youth who will lead the future, and recognize every Tłı̨chǫ citizen who contributes to the strength of our Nation.

Masì cho to everyone who continues to keep Tłı̨chǫ Yatıì, Tłı̨chǫ nàowo, and the spirit of our Nation strong.
