We are hiring!!

Creative Cubs Early Learning Centre located in Radium Hot Springs, BC is looking for a part time employee to assist with manager relief. This is a casual/as needed position in a licensed childcare facility with 4 guaranteed shifts each month. Training and guidance will be given at the start of hiring but will require you to be working alone with anywhere from 4 to 8 children at a time. Applicant must be confident in their skills as an educator and be able to adapt to the ever-changing environment that is childcare. Starting wage is $18 to $21 per hour, dependent on applicants’ level of education and experience.

We are looking for someone who has completed or is willing to complete the responsible adult course or someone who has obtained or is in the process of obtaining their ECE certificate. This position is perfect for someone who has a passion for childcare and early childhood development. We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and can adapt easily to changing environments.

Requirements:

• Responsible adult course -OR-
• Early Childhood Educator Assistant -OR-
• Early Childhood Educator Certificate (or higher)
• Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B
• Able to complete a Criminal Record Check

Job Duties consist of, but are not limited to:

• Taking care of and teaching proper behaviours during mealtimes, toileting, play time, carpet times, and indoor/outdoor activities.
• Developing and implementing programs/activities that promote learning in areas of emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
• Lead activities in different areas of the classroom, for example: circle time, tabletop activities, dramatic play, art/creative expression, sensory, and reading.
• Maintain and be proactive in creating a safe, healthy, and secure environment for all children.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and families.
• Light cleaning duties along with opening and closing duties, filling out incident reports and the daily logbook.

Hello, I am the owner and operator of Creative Cubs Early Learning Centre in Radium Hot Springs. I have started the licensing process and am awaiting approval. I have however received the green light to start advertising and registering new children.

I started my career in Early Childhood Education in the summer of 2019. I have since had 2.5 years experience working with children in a licensed childcare centre. I also am dedicated to taking professional development workshops and am certified to teach Learning Without Tears.

The centre will be open Monday to Friday, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I am able to operate with 8 children, aged 30 months to 5 years and am only able to accept two children below the age of 36 months. I am currently the sole educator at the centre and am looking to accept 7 new children into the program.

Our program offers play based learning along with some structured curriculum. Educators at Creative Cubs provide an environment that supports the children’s learning and development through behavioural guidance practices. These practices consist of, but are not limited to, modelling behaviors, teaching safety habits, practicing proper hygiene, communicating with peers and adults and emotional regulation. The educators at Creative Cubs create materials and provide an environment that supports the early years development to fit the needs of each individual child.
