“I had this little visitor in the garden today. It hovered just near my face like it was keeping me company. I suddenly thought—why would a butterfly want to hang out with me? And then boom: maybe we see ourselves in each other.”

Emotional Elitism.
What does that mean to you?

It looks like this:

Only making space for people who “just get you.”

Only valuing those who show up exactly the way you want them to.
Creating quiet rules around worthiness and calling it “boundaries.”

It’s love… with conditions.

Acceptance… with a performance clause.

Here’s the thing:
True connection isn’t about emotional perfection.
It’s about patience. Nuance. Repair.
It’s about choosing to understand, not punish.
It’s about letting people grow into you, not just fit you.

Many have spent years trying to be emotionally fluent in everyone else’s language.

Try learning to speak your own without shame, without shrinking.

So I ask again:
What does emotional elitism mean to you?
Have you felt it? Have you lived it?

Let’s talk about it.

Have you ever been with someone—romantic, friend, family, or colleague—and felt like something was just off, even though everything “looked” fine on paper? Tell us in the comments: how did your body know?

What if the new standard for compatibility isn’t personality… but energy?

Many people spend a lot of time searching for a friend, a partner, or even a business collaborator who checks certain boxes.

Maybe it’s shared interests.
Maybe it’s a similar lifestyle or worldview.
Maybe it’s how they talk, how they look, how they make you feel.

But what if the most powerful, lasting connections are based on something deeper—something invisible?

What if the next evolution of compatibility is energetic?

The first thing many people will ask is, “What the heck even is that?”

Energetic compatibility is hard to define, but your body knows it when it feels it.
It’s the exhale you didn’t realize you were holding.
It’s the feeling that you don’t have to over-explain, over-give, or over-function to keep the peace.
You just get to be—and that’s enough.

Energetic alignment isn’t about chemistry or charisma.
It’s about how your nervous system responds to someone else’s presence.
Do they expand you—or drain you?
Do they leave you grounded—or unsteady?

We’re entering a new era.
One where we stop choosing people based on surface similarities and start tuning in to the frequency beneath the connection.

Because the truth is:
You can’t build a vibrant life around stagnant energy.
And your body will always tell you what your mind is trying to ignore.

The future of connection is energetic.
Are you listening?

Sometimes the only thing standing between you and the next chapter is proof.
Here it is.
You don’t need to overthink it.
You just need to trust the part of you that already knows.

You’re not lost.
You’re just no longer living for everyone else.
This isn’t the end—it’s your beginning.
And if you need to hear it today:
You’ve already done more than most people ever will.
Let that truth hold you.

Dear friend, we need to help each other more than ever before in human history. Love, respect and friendship are under attack with grave consequences.

You see, a friend shared a post this morning, a shared meme, that encapsulated an idea that must have made her laugh just as I did when I read it. We have the same humour that way. The connection I felt to her in that moment when I was laughing and the feelings that came with it, soon brought forth tears.

Tears for the realization of how far we’ve drifted apart, how in many other aspects of life these days, our beliefs and ideas do not align and neither of us know how to navigate this.

Does anyone know? Is it really ok for so many life long friendships, family relationships and various groups of “others” with whom we do not share the same beliefs to just die out. Do we just dismiss people in our lives with this new found moral high ground that we all seem to have obtained at the expense of years of laughter, years of joy and even years of shared pain.

My friend, is a part of me and I know I am part of them. I want to be honest in saying that I am really struggling with this, would you say that you are too? If we all put aside the parts where we know we don’t see eye to eye, what would be there, I wonder what still remains and is it more than the stubborn, heels dug in stupidity that seems to define us now.

My friends recent tragedy has been a reminder of the distance that we’ve allowed to come between us. I thought and cried for my friend every night, and I didn’t know what to do. It’s hard to know now if they want me or need me in the same ways they used to before the divide set in. So I asked myself, would I still want them with me and the answer was a resounding yes.

Life feels lonelier these days. Sure there’s lots of noise around each day on the platforms and news, and it can almost be loud enough to drown out the bitter pangs of loss and emptiness where you once resided in my days, and in my life and in my world in the way that you did.

Suddenly, or so it seemed, you voted for one political party, and I voted for another, just in the same way our parents and thier parents did throughout the decades. The difference is, it never affected family and friendships in the way it seems to now. Solid family relationships stayed in place and friendships were life long. I wanted that for us, and I thought it would always be there.

My mother, 80, recently lost a childhood friend. I’m not even sure if they knew of one another’s political leanings, but if they did, I can tell you that they sure didn’t care. Nothing like that could have ever come between thier life long bond.

Perhaps there’s something to learn from the life long connection they maintained. Surely in 80 years of world events, political changes, global threats and tragedies, there might have been ample opportunity to put their friendships and relationships to the test.

What they knew better than we seem to is that a shared bond and what that meant for them and many other previous generations was that a bond is like a trust and that you would place that trust in one another’s heart and it was for life. It’s was like an invisible layer that protected the bond and was made of the most resilient, powerful intention.

They seem to have known somthing that we have forgotten, and that is that true friendships and family relations are sacred. They are one of, if not the most valuable of life’s experiences. In fact without these bonds and connections, life is dull and lonely, dare I say even unbearable.

Through these sacred connections, we experience the depth of love, joy, forgiveness, reliance on another, selflessness in action, grief, laughter, loneliness and so many many more. How do you experience any of these without another, especially one that you have formed a special connection with. The contrast of the highs and lows are required in order to truly appreciate what’s worthy and beautiful.

So you see without these sacred bonds that come from connections with sacred others, neither the highs nor the lows in a relationship can be experienced.

This leaves us right where we are today. So many estrangements with and from those most sacred to us, our history and our future hanging in the balance. We are depleting ourselves from experiencing the richness and fullness of others that we met certainly not be chance. but for great purpose.

Are we going to let a system seemly hell bent on destroying that sacred bond of friendship, with its total disregard for what’s true and what’s right and what absolutely matters most. We don’t have to, because really that’s up to us. Only we hold the power to protect what’s sacred and we must not sit idly by and wait for someone or something “out there” to do it because that’s not how this happens.

It happens when we sit down and we think of yesterday, and all the days when what we meant to each other meant more to us than what side we decided we were on. Whe we set aside our judgements and we checked our bias each and every time we opened our mouths. Oh, and you know you’re doing it, and I know that I am too, so how about we just stop!

Let’s stop doing that and let’s get back to finding what does matter, what really matters. Let’s remember our shared virtues and values and let’s remind each other that kindness and forgiveness is all that there is and all that will matter on our last days. On our last days, who was in office, or what color political flag we waved will not even enter our minds. It will be who we made magic moments with, who we told all our troubles to, who we laughed with and who we loved and who loved us back.

"Our subconscious mind works 24 hours a day and makes provisions for your benefit, pouring all the fruits of your habitual thinking into your lap......NEVER finish a negative statement; reverse it immediately, and wonders will happen in your life."
