🍝 Spaghetti, anyone?! 😂

Our sensory fun continues with a big bowl of spaghetti! The children can scoop, serve, twirl and create their own silly spaghetti dishes, all while building fine motor skills and using their imaginations.

Sometimes the best play is the simplest!

Today we created a sensory walk using all kinds of different textures! Once the glue is dry, the children will get to explore it tomorrow with their hands and their feet. 🖐️🦶

👀👂✋👃👅 August Curriculum | The 5 Senses

This month, the children will be learning all about how we see, hear, touch, smell and taste the world around us.

Through play, children will build vocabulary, strengthen early literacy and math skills, make predictions, experiment, observe and, most importantly, get curious about how their world works.

We encourage the families enrolled with us to piggyback on our theme this month with your own activities and conversations with your children at home.

At Quesnel Pre-K and West Quesnel Day School, learning is meant to be touched, explored, questioned and discovered. 💛

🌱 We’re continuing to grow… literally!

This weekend at Quesnel Pre-K @ St. Ann’s, we added a new raised garden bed and started creating a dedicated garden space for our children to enjoy. 🌼 This is just the beginning, and we have even more ideas to bring this area to life over the coming months.

We also trimmed back the overhanging branches along the fence to make the outdoor space safer, brighter, and more enjoyable for everyone.

As we continue to grow our programs by expanding our spaces, hiring and training an incredible team, and thoughtfully developing our outdoor environments, our goal remains the same: to create places where children can learn, explore, and thrive alongside educators who love what they do. ❤️

We know we’re not perfect, and sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. When that happens, we’re committed to listening, learning, and making the changes needed to give every family the best experience possible. That commitment will never change.

🫧 Soapy Fun 🫧

There is something magical about a tub full of bubbles! Today the children enjoyed washing trucks, animals, and even their own feet. They scooped, scrubbed, poured, squeezed, and covered themselves in mountains of foam!

While it may look like simple fun, this kind of sensory play is packed with learning. Children are strengthening their fine motor skills, exploring different textures, developing hand-eye coordination, building language as they describe what they feel, and practicing cooperation as they share materials and space.

Also, who can resist a handful of bubbles? Sometimes the best learning happens when children are simply given the freedom to play, explore, and enjoy the moment.
