Building Literacy Together

I always tell my students that everyone has things they need to learn, even adults, and some of those things take a lot of work, but they can be done.

I've never really been into posting much on social media. I don't like being in videos or even pictures, and I find it difficult to even know what to post that people might find interesting. However, I really want to share tips and tricks to help kids with reading and other subjects with parents, grandparents, and anyone interested in K-12 education. I am passionate about supporting education, learning everything I can and sharing what I learn.

My goal is to learn to create posts that followers will find educational, interesting, and engaging.

Spots are filling up! I have a couple of spaces available during school hours for homeschool families and ESL (English as a Second Language) students.

After-school sessions are always in high demand. I currently have openings on Mon/Wed for 2x/week students, between 3:15-6pm. Orton-Gillingham students are required to commit to 2x/week, but other subjects can be 1x. For 1x per week, I have 2 Tuesday evening spots available, between 6:15-8:45pm.

Are you looking to give your child a head start before the school year begins? I have 2-3 spaces available in August for 1:1 tutoring sessions. My specialty is reading, writing and spelling, using the Orton-Gillingham approach. For this program, it is necessary to commit to at least 2x/week, though there can be some flexibility during summer. I will be able to continue working with students in September, though the schedule may change.

I am also in the process of obtaining my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification and have opened up spaces for students of all ages that would like to improve their English skills.

I also offer homework support. Most people are not in school right now, but if you are taking online courses and are looking for assistance, please reach out!

All lessons are currently held in my space in Bouchie Lake.

I have some openings coming up in January for children that have been struggling with reading and spelling. Orton-Gillingham is a multi-modal (multi-sensory) approach to learning decoding and encoding skills, helping children succeed in academics. If you know or suspect that your child has dyslexia, ADHD or other learning difficulties and want them to have additional support and a boost to their self-confidence, look no further! For the months of January and February, I am offering a discount for new students aged 7-14 to give OG a try without a lengthy commitment.
