Eggs to Eagles Preschool

This simple invitation set the stage for a deep exploration of ramps, stacking and rolling. The children experimented with the height of the ramps to see how the cars changed their speed and distance. They played cooperatively with each other and parked the cars in the "garages".

We love outdoor exploration at Eggs to Eagles! We get outside every single day. Whether it's making a construction zone in the backyard, tending to our garden, or going on an adventure at Fish Creek Park, our little learners love it all. The benefits of daily outdoor time are endless.

The "little guys" built a path to the store and then got dressed. This is the beauty of open-ended play. These coins and rings became a pathway and clothing for the figures, all while developing the children's fine motor skills, colour recognition, and matching/sorting skills. Later in the day, these exact same materials became animals in the zoo and trees. Young minds have endless creativity and we love to let it grow.

It was a very exciting day over here at Eggs to Eagles! Our huge order of these beautiful handcrafted toys finally arrived! I am so happy to add these open ended materials to our toy collection. The little bugs are my favourite! I can't wait to see the children's imagination come to life and all of the wonderful things they will create.

Sometimes art looks like a "mess". But at Eggs to Eagles we see the value in free access to all materials. Allowing children of all ages to explore different materials fosters their creativity and sense of wonder.

These sparkly pipe cleaners provided a sensory experience through touching the textures and watching the light reflect off of them. They provided an introduction to colour recognition as the child held each one up and another child said the colour. Child led play is sometimes messy. But it is always an opportunity for learning.

At Eggs to Eagles we love open ended play. Allowing the children free access to a variety of materials to be used in many different ways opens up a world of possibilities. Giving our children the freedom to be creative fosters their imagination, critical thinking skills, and allows them to be in control of their own play.

We love our light box! Today we're exploring the science of light and shadow and colour mixing, while building early literacy and numeracy skills with letter and number recognition. Watching the children proudly hold up the first letter of their name and say "T! It's me, I found T!" is so rewarding. There really are so many opportunities for learning through play!!

Beginning September 2026, Eggs to Eagles is welcoming kindergarten-grade 6 students for out of school care. Serving Don Bosco School, Haultain Memorial School, and Wilma Hansen School. Before and after school care, as well as PD day and school break care is available.
