What's up guys, I've put together a diagram of the mental game framework to help you better visualize it. You can follow it as your read on. I hope you find it useful and good luck at the tables over the weekend 👍🏽 - Francois Hamel, BBZ Performance Coach.

The mental game framework is a more elaborate way to show the concept of identity, habits & outcomes (see our previous Mental Game post for more on this or visit BBZPoker.com to start working on mindset right away with the bundle!). 👇🏽

I argue that you have this foundation that makes up who you are i.e. your past experiences or lessons learnt. These lessons are what can lead you to hold certain beliefs and values in your life.

Those 3 pillars help guide your habits/actions, which DIRECTLY influence your performance standards. So whether you're performing to the standards you want to or not - this will inevitably lead to certain outcomes.

▶️ Next, those outcomes will feed back to your past experiences. Think about what you learn from those experiences and how it shapes your beliefs and values that you set in life, or more specifically poker.

- Identity
- Habits
- Outcomes.

👉🏽 These are all interconnected and influence each other. If you believe something about yourself (your identity), you will act in accordance with that belief (habits) which will lead to certain outcomes.

If you repeat a certain habit for enough time you will start to believe you are that type of person (habit -> identity).

So, for example; if you start getting sustained success/wins in poker (outcomes) you will start to believe you are a poker player (identity) and you will keep doing what seems to be working i.e study! (habits).

💡 Start with your habits. Look for the outcomes created. Hopefully that can reinforce who you are looking to become; as a poker player or a person - making the journey toward your goals a little easier.
