Thank you to those who came out to the Prince George Metis Community Association Picnic yesterday and made Devil's Club bracelets with me. It was lovely to talk and be creative with each one of you. 42 bracelets were made and now out around town. 😃
Thank you to all of those who organized and put the Picnic on 🥰

Such a big beautiful mushroom that I come across when I mushroom hunt for Chanterelles.
This is the Catathelasma ventricosum mushroom (this is not a Pine mushroom. Some people call this the Mock Pine though).
Has anyone here tried the "Cat" mushroom? If so, what were your thoughts on it?

With the rain Prince George has been getting in June, July, and a bit of August...and with the cool nights, I was wondering if I would find any Blue Chanterelles this year. Yes...yes I found some and I expect more to come, especially if the autumn rains come.
Blue Chanterelles (Polyozellus multiplex) flush only during years that present a lot of moisture. The more rain a year has, the more likely you'll find these in Forests where Spruce and Fir exist.
Sometimes the mycelium waits for years until the conditions are right to produce fruiting bodies.

They make great mushroom jerky!

Gotta cut out a few slug holes, but that's ok. I don't mind 😃
