🚒🚑 Touch a Truck Field Trip! 🚓✨

Yesterday, our little ones headed out for the Touch a Truck event and were so excited to explore! Unfortunately, we had to cut our field trip a little short because our licensing inspection arrived at the daycare, so we needed to head back earlier than planned.

Before leaving, the children still got the chance to explore the ambulance and emergency vehicles, climb inside, check out the equipment, and learn more about how our community helpers do their jobs. They were having such a great time and definitely wished we could stay longer!

The unexpected change of plans came with some wonderful news though - our licensing inspection went extremely well, and no citations were issued to Sweet Pumpkins Daycare! 🎉💛

So even though our Touch a Truck adventure was shorter than expected, it still turned into a very special and successful day for us.

We’re proud of our little learners, our team, and the wonderful environment we continue to create for our children. ❤️

🍋🌋 Lemon Volcano Science Fun! 🌋🍋

Today our little scientists explored a fizzy Lemon Volcano experiment! Using lemons, baking soda, vinegar, and food colouring, the children created exciting mini volcanic eruptions right before their eyes.

Using droppers (pipettes), they carefully squeezed the vinegar into the lemons, strengthening their fine motor skills and hand muscles while learning cause and effect. The excitement on their faces every time the volcano fizzed and bubbled was priceless!

The fun didn’t stop there! The children squeezed the lemons to get every last drop of juice, discovered lemon seeds inside, and even reused the vinegar from the tray to keep the eruptions going. Their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving kept the experiment going far longer than we expected!

Science is always more meaningful when little hands get to explore, experiment, and discover. What a fun, messy, and educational way to learn! 🍋🧪✨

🍋💛 Lemon Theme Sensory Fun! 💛🍋

Today our little pumpkins had so much fun with a simple shaving foam and yellow food colouring sensory activity! 🫧💛 We spread our fluffy lemon-themed mixture all over the tuff tray, and the kids got busy using their fingers to make all kinds of shapes, lines, swirls and their own creative designs! ✨🎨

But of course… we couldn’t stop there 😂🙈 Little hands went straight into the fluffy mixture, and soon our fence became the perfect canvas for some lemony handprint art! 🖐️🍋💛

Messy hands, lots of exploring, creativity and sooo much fun! Sometimes the best activities are the ones that take their own little turn 😂🍋💛
