Wednesday we spend some time with Westview Public School and Prince Albert National Park, Parks Canada 🦫 it was a great time learning about aquatic life and wetland ecosystems. 🌿

Five of these kids are part of our OA crew! Proud of them!

🛶 🪴 🪏 Canoe training on Friday and today we worked with our partner farm to plant a shelterbelt and garden. ☀️

DYK: In Canada, there have been no fatalities caused by a Prairie Rattlesnake bite? There have been less than a handful of recorded Prairie Rattlesnake bites in Canada in the last couple of decades. Most bites are easy to avoid – don’t try to pick up a snake, or stick your hand in a burrow, take precautions are loud machinery or when wearing headphones in an area where rattlesnakes exist.

Today was a great day ☀️ we learned about human impacts on water systems. A morning visit to LaColle Falls followed by a fish release of our class rainbow trout. 🐟

Thanks Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation for supporting another successful year of Fish in Schools. 96/100 trout raised from egg to fingerling!

At Westview Public School the other day for their culture camp. We were so happy to help mentor and teach about
🦬 bison
🦅 birds
and 🧭 navigation.

You were a fantastic crew thanks for being such attentive and open to new teachings from us!

Today we tested our animal knowledge at the Natural Resources Lab 🌲at Saskpolytech Prince Albert 🎓and got a tour of the other things that this place had to offer.

We are back! 🚌 Grasslands National Park, Parks Canada 🦫 didn’t disappoint! Just watch out for that wind!! 💨
