SGDHS Grade 11 student, Grant Emmell, just came back from an amazing couple day’s at OSLCamp (Ontario Student Leadership Camp) in Sarnia! Grant was chosen as one of only 40 students from across Ontario to attend. After going to the Ontario Student Leadership Conference alongside some of our SG students, Grant was inspired to apply for the camp and earned a spot at OSLCamp.

It was an unforgettable experience. On top of meeting like-minded students from all over the province, Grant leveled up his leadership toolkit. He expanded his skills in event planning, tough situations under pressure, and learning better ways to communicate and bring teams together.

Grant is super excited to bring these fresh ideas back to South Grenville (and to the UCDSB in his role as Student Trustee) to make our school events and community even better this year. Way to go, Grant!

A huge thank you (from Grant) to Mrs. Sloan, Mrs. Landon, and Mrs. Johnston for helping make this opportunity happen! πŸ‘

Congratulations, Mr. Tony Chellew!
Today marks the first day of retirement of Mr. Tony Chellew. Tony has been a beloved member of the SGDHS community for many years and has made an extraordinary contribution to both our school and the Upper Canada District School Board.

Many students will remember Tony for his passion for Transportation Technology and for the unique opportunity he had to teach alongside his brother at SGDHS for many years. Throughout his career, Tony served as a department head, played a key role in implementing the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program at SGDHS, and was a respected leader within the technological studies department. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony has been a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend to many members of our staff.

We are deeply grateful for his dedication, leadership, and years of service to students and families. On behalf of the entire SGDHS community, we congratulate Mr. Chellew on his retirement and wish him health, happiness, and many new adventures in this next chapter.
