This weekend, we're taking a little time to reflect on the things we're thankful for at Assumption. ❤️ Over the next three days, we'll be sharing a few of the people and moments that make our school special.

First up, our amazing school community!

Our walkathon was such a wonderful reminder of what makes a small school special. Families, friends, and community members coming together, cheering each other on, and showing our students just how much they are supported.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, cheered, or helped make the day happen. We couldn't do it without you!

Our annual Walkathon fundraiser is tomorrow!

Students are reminded that it is a non-uniform day. They are encouraged to dress head to toe in their favourite colour!

Loving God, help us to be living signs of Your healing love.
Open our hearts to respect, to welcome, and to include one another.
Give us the courage to stand up for the dignity of our Indigenous
sisters and brothers and of those with roots in other lands, all of us created in Your image.
Strengthen us in our walk together.
God of truth, let honesty guide our steps along the path of truth and reconciliation, of healing and friendship.
Grant us wisdom to recognize and celebrate the beautiful gifts of Indigenous cultures. May we go forward in humility, as the children of One Creator and loving members of the family of God.
Amen.

We got DUCKED! 🦆💙

The U13 Kings surprised our K/1 class with a whole bunch of rubber ducks today, and the excitement was pretty much instant!

Of course, they wanted to share the fun, so they passed the ducks on to their big buddies in Grades 6/7.

A huge thank you to the U13 Kings for spreading some joy with their fundraiser!

We're happy to welcome back the Powell River Kings and the READ program at our school this week. We are thankful to Westview Agencies Ltd. and The Cooperators for sponsoring this program in local schools.
