On Monday our grade 1/2 students visited the Cranberry cemetery to participate in the No Stone Left Alone program to honour Canadian veterans.
Miss Wong lead the class and the Rangers in a beautiful ceremony which included students reading Flanders Fields and A Prayer of Remembrance. The students then were assigned to find the gravestones of former veterans and say thank-you while putting a poppy down.
It was a profound experience for many students. Afterwards they wrote and drew to recap their day. Here are a few of their reflections.

Today we wear orange shirts to take time and space to reflect on the atrocities committed in residential schools against First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
We will be gathering in an assembly where we will listen, learn and love together because every child matters.

We’re really excited about our Junior Kindergarten program for 2023-2024!
Currently there are 2 openings but if there is enough interest we may be able to increase the program beyond 8 spots.
We also are awaiting the final approval from the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative grant which would make our JK program a $10/day program (or $200/month).
Forms are on the PRCS website. They can be printed off, filled and dropped off in the school mailbox or scanned and sent to Mr Boettger at [email protected].
There will be a short interview with Mrs. Vecsey later in the summer.
Spread the word!
