Sew the seeds of knowledge! There's still time to register for these Micro-credentials. Thank you Young Agrarians for helping to spread the word to all the budding farmers out there.

📣 Vancouver Island University has opened registration for an agriculture micro-credential program that offers a comprehensive introduction to the science, principles and practices that support sustainable, regenerative and agro-ecological farming systems.

The program includes four micro-credentials:
🌾 Sustainable Soils Management: Surviving to Thriving
🌾 Agroecology: Perspectives, Principles and Practices
🌾 Livestock Husbandry Fundamentals
🌾 Seed Security: Organic Vegetable Seed Production

All four of these courses can be taken remotely (field days are optional).

In late Spring 2027 we will once again be delivering Indigenous Studies 300 - Land as Life. This is a truly transformative course for all who take it and we expect it to fill up fast once registrations open.

In order to enroll in INDG 300 you must have completed the pre-requisites INDG 103 (Fall 2026) and INDG 104 (early Spring 2027).

About Indigenous Studies 300 - Land as Life:

Join your hosts, the Tla'amin people, and immerse yourself in an intensive one-week course. Gain an appreciation for Indigenous perspectives on the cultural significance of the land, experience learning off-campus (accommodations provided on Tla-amin territory for the duration of the course) and earn 3 university credits.
