🍂 A Little Fall Magic, One Scoop at a Time 🎃

Our fall sensory bin is officially OPEN! 🍁✨

We filled our bin with colorful autumn rice, tiny pumpkins, hidden treasures, scoops, bowls, and plenty of opportunities for little hands to dig, scoop, pour, search, sort, and discover!

And honestly… watching the rice fall through those little fingers is half the fun. 😍

Sensory play may look like “just playing,” but there is SO much learning happening underneath the surface. Children are building fine motor strength, hand eye coordination, language, problem solving skills, early math concepts, and confidence as they explore materials at their own pace.

Plus, there is something pretty magical about a bin full of crunchy autumn colors and tiny surprises waiting to be found. 🍂🧡

So grab a scoop, dig in, and let the fall adventures begin! 🎃🍁

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

It is a day to remember the children who never returned home, honour Survivors and their families, and reflect on the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation.

At LGLC, we believe reconciliation begins with listening, learning, acknowledging the truth, and creating meaningful opportunities to honour Indigenous voices, cultures, histories, and experiences.

Our centre will be CLOSED Wednesday, September 30, to allow our educators time to learn, reflect, and take part in this important day.

We will reopen and welcome our LGLC families back on Thursday, October 1. 🧡

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day, and remain committed to continuing our own journey of learning and meaningful reconciliation.

🍝✨ All About Me... and my favourite foods! ❤️
Our little chefs are building their very own pasta plates while talking about what foods they like, what they would choose, and what makes their plate uniquely theirs! 👩‍🍳🌈

Along the way, they’re practicing counting, sorting, fine motor skills, following directions, and making choices through playful sensory exploration. 🥄🔢

🌈✨ Welcome to All About Me Week in Munchkinland! ✨🌈

This week, our little munchkins are diving head first into learning all about ME! 💚🧠👀👂👃👅🖐️

We are exploring how our amazing bodies work by focusing on our five senses and how they help us learn and make sense of the world around us!

📚 Monday: We read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and then put our eyes to work with a fun colour scavenger hunt around the classroom! 🔴🟡🔵🟢

🖐️ Tuesday: We discovered just how much our hands can tell our brains! Our little explorers investigated different textures using shaving cream, sand, pinecones, plastic toys, and squishy cubes. From soft and smooth to rough and squishy, there was plenty to touch, feel, and talk about! 🤲✨

And this is only the beginning! We have so much more sensory exploring planned as we continue learning about our bodies and all the incredible ways they help us experience the world.

🌸 **Childcare providers need a break too!** 🌸

We spend our days pouring patience, kindness, love, encouragement, creativity, and sometimes A LOT of coffee into caring for the little humans in our lives. 😂❤️

But even the people who care for everyone else need a chance to pause, breathe, recharge, and refill their own cups.

So, as we head into summer break, we wanted to send our amazing team off with a little reminder:

☕ **You matter too.**
💗 **Your hard work matters.**
🌸 **Rest is not selfish.**
🌈 **You deserve a break.**

And because nothing says “you survived another year of tiny humans” quite like snacks… we may have sent them home with a little **nacho problem** too. 😂🌮

What better way to beat the summer heat than with a little snow… cone?! ☀️🥵➡️🍧

Don’t worry parents, safety is our number one priority. These treats were made without gluten, without dyes, and without nuts! 😉

Our kiddos and staff enjoyed a cool little treat today because they’ve been making snow many good choices! 💕👏 Cotton candy was the most requested, beat out both watermelon and strawberry flavors!

From sweet treats to sweet smiles, it was the perfect way to cool down, celebrate, and enjoy a little summer magic together 🌈😎🍧

We’re snow lucky to have such an amazing group of kiddos! 🥰❄️
