Whether your child is thriving, building confidence, or could use a little extra support, you’ll leave with practical strategies to help every learner grow.

If you registered for student transportation prior to June 15th, or received an email confirming your child was automatically registered, bus passes will be available for pickup at the School Bus Garage (6580 Cranberry Street) from 9:00am to 2:00pm commencing Monday August 31st until Friday, September 4th.

After September 4th, bus passes will be available for pickup at your school office.

Please note: All other rider applicants will be granted seating based on availability and notified after the second week of school.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, qathet School District is offering an optional school supply program for K-7 students, designed to make back-to-school preparation easier for families while ensuring students have consistent, classroom-ready materials.

Families can either choose to participate for $30 per student, with the school purchasing supplies based on classroom needs, or purchase supplies independently using a teacher-specific supply list.

PLEASE NOTE: Families will receive an email from their school principal no later than August 31st with a form to indicate whether they would like to participate. If you choose not to participate, a teacher-specific school supply list will be sent home on the first day of school.

Special Shoutout to all of the Brooks Volunteers who helped out all day at the track meet last Friday. We had 35 students from Brooks Secondary School helping with all of the track events as well as the concession. They were absolutely amazing helpers!! Thank you Brooks students, you represented your school and yourselves really well! We couldn't have pulled it off without you!

Come out to the Library (PRPL) on February 19th between 10-11:30am and meet our community’s incredible team of Early Years experts, facilitators and supports, while your young children (0-5 years) explore the ORCA BUS, StrongStart GO, play games, eat snacks, and make connections with other families.

There will also be Kindergarten registration on site for the 2026/27 school year!

This qathet Play and Connect event is hosted in partnership with qathet School District and StrongStart GO, the Powell River Public Library, Child Care Resource & Referral, Inclusion Powell River, Tla’amin Nation, Youth & Family Powell River, and Vancouver Coastal Health.
