The Manitoba Teacher’s Society is proud to introduce a new Orange Shirt Day design created by Kae Maud, an Indigenous Two-Spirit artist from Swan Lake First Nation whose work celebrates culture, identity and community. 🧡

For this design, Kae, artist name ‘Skultural,’ drew on both Indigenous teachings and the importance of education. The imagery reflects the belief that knowledge is sacred and so are children.

Sometimes the biggest community celebrations start with something simple: a few families getting together.

The growth has been remarkable—but organizers say the heart of it hasn't changed.

Find out why this annual celebration continues to mean so much to the Yellowquill School community.

🌎❤️ We’re Better Together: Celebrating the Many Stories That Make Us Stronger ❤️🌎

Today marked the final day of the Flag Raising Ceremony at the PCI Athletic Fields, bringing together community members to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and stories that make Portage la Prairie a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive place to call home.

We are honoured to support the Portage la Prairie School Division in recognizing the diverse communities that enrich our city. Every flag raised throughout this week represents a journey of courage, resilience, hope, and belonging. Together, these stories remind us that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us over the past three days of this celebration. Your presence, support, and participation helped make this event a meaningful reflection of the values we share as a community—respect, inclusion, understanding, and belonging.

As part of the We’re Better Together campaign, we remain committed to celebrating diversity, strengthening connections, and building a community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included.

❤️ Together, we learn from one another.
❤️ Together, we celebrate our differences.
