Attention CVS families, from October 13-15 we will be experiencing traffic delays on Crescent Road East of CVS in front of the apartments. Manitoba Hydro will be trimming trees and will be partially shutting the road down. Between 9:30 and 3:00 Manitoba Hydro will be controlling traffic to one lane which will cause delays.

This week, CVS students wore orange shirts to honour survivors of residential schools and remember the children who never came home. Orange Shirt Day reminds us that every child matters. By wearing orange, we show respect, raise awareness, and commit to truth, reconciliation, and building a better future together. We would like to thank our students, staff and community for attending our Welcome Back community BBQ. Thank you to our Home & School Association for planning this great event.

Crescentview School is pleased to be hosting its annual Terry Fox Walk on Thursday, October 8th. All monies raised through our event will be forwarded to the Terry Fox Foundation to further the cause of cancer research. Our walk will be both on school grounds and off school grounds as our course winds its way through the Koko Platz area. The course is approximately 30 minutes in length and students will be encouraged to have proper footwear for the day. Teachers, parents, and supervisors will be on hand to supervise and assist students along the way. We also invite you to participate by walking and cheering the children as they complete the course. We will be fundraising with coins again this year. Students can bring any kind of coins throughout the week and place them in the money jar in the office. Let’s see if we can fill the jar! You can go online find the Crescentview School Terry Fox Page and donate. https://schools.terryfox.ca/CrescentviewSchoolPortagelaPrairieMB

We are very proud to be associated with The Terry Fox Foundation and believe that our involvement will help launch a successful and meaningful school year. Thank you in advance for helping us keep Terry’s dream to find a cure for cancer alive.

CVS needs your help. Sometimes you may see some extra PE equipment on our basketball court or playground after hours. We will be keeping our basketball court accessible, so we are asking our community to please return any equipment to the bin so our students can continue to enjoy their recesses throughout the day. Thank you for your support.
