Camp Scugog has offered incredible programming to children, youth and mothers affected by poverty since 1931. In fact, we are one of the oldest camps in Canada!

In order to fulfill the growing demand of nature-based programming for children, Camp Scugog has launched Scugog Nature School on its beautiful 300 acres of pristine natural landscape along the shores of Lake Scugog. Part of Lake Scugog United Church Camp, Inc.

Summer Day Camp week 2 was one for the books! We learned all about nature, from birds to butterflies, camping skills, and explored the water cycle!

We can’t believe that summer is almost over, but keep an eye out for our March Break Camp, 2027!

The final two days of Summer Day Camp were everything we hoped for and more. We canoed through the swamp, hiked to faraway places, learned about animals and nature, and spent time creating with our hands.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this July. We are so grateful for the memories we made and can’t wait to welcome you back for more outdoor adventures- maybe even some of you in August!

Summer Day Camp has been off to a great start this week! We built a huge campfire, learned how to read a map, and identified the clouds in the sky ⛅️

To keep cool in the heat, we’ve ended each day with a super fun swim in the lake. We’re so grateful for the breeze by the water and the cool water to play in 🌊

The week isn’t over yet! There is still lots of fun in store.

We are counting down the days until July 13! As the excitement builds, here’s a quick reminder of what to pack for a great week at Day Camp:

* Running shoes and light layers for exploring the forest
* Swimsuit, towel, and sandals for swimming in the lake
* Sun hat, sunscreen, and bug spray to stay protected
* A peanut-free lunch, snacks, and a reusable water bottle to stay fueled for the day

And don’t worry- if something gets forgotten at home, we always have extras to share! See you soon ☀️

See the magic happen! Ever wonder what a day at Camp Scugog’s Day Camp actually looks like?

✨ Morning Circle: Checking in, sharing stories, and what we’re feeling grateful for today.

🎨 Crafts: All of the painting, beading, and nature based crafts under the sun.

🌲 Forest Exploration: Getting lost in the wonder of nature (and finding some cool bugs).

🌊 Making a splash: The best way to cool off after a morning of play is jumping in beautiful Lake Scugog!

⛹️ Game time: High-energy fun incorporated throughout the day.

Between all of the fun, our goal is to make sure every child feels seen, supported, and excited for tomorrow.

Camp Scugog had a special visit from the Easter Bunny today! 🐰🧩

We searched the grounds for hidden puzzle pieces, working together to complete the puzzles before heading home with a sweet loot bag. Thank you to all the families who gathered around the campfire with us today!

This day was made possible by a generous grant from the Township Of Scugog. Thank you for helping us bring the community together!
