It's been a busy few days at the cabin at Journey Through the Arts as we hosted little kids AND kids at heart with 2 Adult Workshops and a Pop Up kids art workshop 🎨

The adults explored whimsical watercolour fruit and sea glass paintings. If you are an adult looking to explore your creative side feel free to join my Mailing List. We have lots of fun chatting, connecting with each other and creating!

It's a full house today at Journey Through the Arts for a summer Pop Up workshop at the cabin. This morning we will spend the morning exploring underwater creatures in the Japanese kawaii style of cartooning and then add a splash of colour with watercolour!

Are the kids getting restless? Are they looking for a creative morning making art?

I am pleased to be offering a POP UP SUMMER ART WORKSHOP for kids ages 6-13 on:
Monday, July 27 from 10:00-11:30
at the Journey Through the Arts log cabin studio (which is air conditioned!)
UNDER THE SEA KAWAII CARTOONING & WATERCOLOUR! During this fun workshop we will dive deep underwater and learn how to draw various underwater creatures in the Japanese kawaii style of cartooning including whales, turtles, crab jellyfish and more! Each participant will also decorate and draw on their own fabric bag which holds their own watercolour paint set and sketchbook that they get to take home with them! We will also experiment with various watercolour painting techniques and ink pen drawing techniques.

$35 plus HST per child which includes all art supplies and an art bag to take home with them full of supplies!

The magic continued inside the mill today at Journey Through the Arts for Week 2 "The Haunted Hotel". The kids were amazing and worked so hard as we stayed indoors today. We painted, rehearsed, jammed with our instruments, created Puppets, did some cartooning and more!

We can't wait to show you everything we have been working on at this Friday's Open House.

I am pleased to be offering a few adult art workshops this summer at the Journey Through the Arts log cabin studio. (Which is air conditioned for everyone's comfort!) So if you are looking for a cool, creative and fun way to spend your time read on...

Here is what I have coming up at the studio:

MONDAY EVENING ADULT WORKSHOPS:
($30 plus HST per class)

Monday, July 20 from 6:00-7:00pm: Drawing Soothing Waves, Water & Seascapes with Chalk Pastel

Monday, July 27 from 6:00-7:00pm: Fun, Colourful & Loose Watercolour Fruit- fill your page with whimsical and fun pears, watermelons, apples, oranges and more! No drawing required! A great way to play with wet on wet techniques and shading!

Monday, August 24 from 6:00-7:00pm: Mixed Media & Pencil Portraits: Don't be scared! We will learn about drawing faces but also combine magazine images to create a mixed media portrait. A great introduction to sketching people and how to train your observational skills for drawing anything!

TUESDAY MORNING ADULT WORKSHOP:
($35 plus HST per class)

Tuesday, July 28 from 10:00-11:30: Creating with Sea Glass: Combining real sea glass and acrylic paint to create mixed media pieces on canvas.

"Welcome to Magic School" Week 1 of the Journey Through the Arts 2026 Summer Program was a huge success. Here are the happy artists, musicians and actors at their Open House performances and art gallery. The 2 plays and 2 songs were written entirely by the kids- many of whom had never been on stage before.

The mill was alive with energy and positive experiences this week. Feel free to scroll through to see a bit of the amazing artwork created by the kids as well.

Can you believe that the 26th year of the Journey Through the Arts starts on Monday!?! That means that we have welcomed over 3,000 students to the mill over the years!

We have been hard at work getting the mill ready for another magical summer of music, art and drama!

We can't wait to welcome our first group of young artists, musicians and actors very soon! Get ready to let your imaginations run wild ❤️🎸🎨 🎭
