Celebrating the music of The Tragically Hip this weekend. I feel lucky that I was the perfect age for Hip when they hit and was able to get to some shows. If I'm honest though, it wasn't an instant hit for me. For a long time I just didn't really dig it. Eventually though I discovered them and their unique sound. The first show did it for me. After that I was all in and was able to see them a few times after that.

With the current music climate you have to wonder if they'd even make it in today's world? A truly Canadian band who told the stories of our country.

Tonight was my 3rd time seeing Rush and each time has been mesmerizing. Growing up I was not really a huge fan if I'm honest. After seeing them once, meeting them on another occasion, then seeing them again along with diving head first into their records I became a much bigger fan. There's a real magic to what they do. You really need to witness it.

I didn't think they could top the last time I saw them but tonight was truly unbelievable. Anika is a monster on the kit and the lads up front are having a blast playing and it shows. Honestly one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

This lad has come by the cabin a couple of times over the past 6 months to film some promo stuff. He's starting to release his tunes now so go out and give a listen to Noah Brigden and give him a follow. I wanted to wait and share his songs once he had a few singles out. It's grunge/folk and on all of the usual streaming platforms. He's an authentic guy and I've enjoyed getting to know him. In the short time I've known him he's really grown as an artist. This fall he's playing The Troubadour in Los Angeles and I look forward to seeing where he ends up. Good luck keep rocking man.
