We are Nova Scotia's college. The Strait Area Campus is one of NSCC's 13 campuses. The NSCC Strait Area Campus is located in Port Hawkesbury, overlooking the Strait of Canso. The campus offers an extensive range of programs and a Business Innovation Centre, which gives students opportunities for real-life work experience while they study. The Campus is home to the Nautical Institute and School of Fisheries that provide Transport Canada-approved marine training.

Options Youth Incubator – Black Nova Scotian cohort.
Options Youth is a federally funded program designed to help youth build skills, gain experience, and successfully transition into the labour market.
Program snapshot:
Exclusively for Black Nova Scotian youth
13-week, paid, full-time program (participants are paid a full-time wage for 13 weeks)
Delivered online via Zoom
Only 15 spots available
Includes training, individualized support, and mentorship
Free to participants (we pay participants so they can attend)
Applications are reviewed and selected participants will be interviewed.
Participants must be: Black Nova Scotian, 18–30 years old, and legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person).
Priority may be given to applicants who identify with additional equity-deserving groups (e.g., disability, 2SLGBTQI+, rural/remote).
