🌿 National Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🌿
Today, School District No. 85 proudly joins communities across Canada in celebrating National Indigenous Peoples’ Day — a time to honour and recognize the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
We are grateful for the opportunity to live, learn, and work on the traditional territories of the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw Peoples and remain committed to walking together in the spirit of reconciliation, respect, and learning.
Indigenous knowledge, language, and culture enrich our schools and strengthen our communities. Today and every day, we celebrate the resilience, leadership, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.
Gilakas’la to our students, families, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, staff, and community partners who continue to share their gifts and teachings.
