Our Story

It all started with a Facebook group. It was one of those “Where are you from” threads and we both had posted from the Owen Sound region. That was May 2018. Fast forward to June 14th 2018, 7:30pm and our first “business meeting” at Coffee Culture. Not that we knew it would turn into a “business meeting”, or that we even anticipated what would ever ensue from that lovely evening!

You see, Paige had literally ran into a salt cave in Kitchener a few months back and had wanted to bring it to Owen Sound. She was slowly working on a business plan and when she met with Linda, she had discussed her idea of a salt cave, with floatation tanks and infrared sauna in Owen Sound. Linda, being a spiritual teacher who wanted to expand, bring retreats, guided meditations and all of the fun spiritual stuff to this area, started realizing that this could actually meld well together. She even pictured the sign “Mind Body Spirit” in her head, described it to Paige, who was flabbergasted - that was the sign!

And that, my friends, is how Kokoro was born. We worked on a business plan that summer, went through all the financial loops in the fall and early winter 2018, we signed a lease. January 2019, renos began and Kokoro was more than just an idea!
