Oliver Merlo is a professional artist with over 20 years of experience. While studying art in Toronto, he discovered his love of caricature, and over the past three years he’s returned to live caricature drawing, bringing it to markets, festivals, weddings, private events, and corporate gatherings. 

After recently relocating to the Lower Mainland, Oliver is excited to introduce his live caricature art to new communities. He loves the energy of drawing people in person and capturing their personality and character in just a few minutes. He’s also an animator and storyboard artist, so storytelling and bringing characters to life have always been a big part of his work.

Oliver’s favorite thing about Christmas is the feeling of bringing people together. He loves seeing families and friends laughing together, making memories, and enjoying time with one another. That’s also one of the things he loves most about caricatures!

For the Christmas Craft Fair, Oliver will be offering live caricatures by donation, so everyone can enjoy a personalized drawing and take home a fun little keepsake, regardless of their budget. He thought this would be a nice way to share the joy of caricature and make the experience accessible to everyone during the festive season.

Evelina Cooper from Bouges Shoes and Clothing has been participating in Carney’s craft fair for almost 20 years. Her table is always in the same location, Candy Cane Lane (aka the Multi Purpose Room or the last area when you’re touring the craft fair).

Her most popular items are handmade children’s leather slippers and costumes for the Elf on the Shelf. She makes new designs with different fabrics to keep the magic going!

Colleen Kelly from Blends of Goodness says her favourite thing about Christmas is spending time with family, enjoying good food and creating those special memories that make the season so meaningful. She also loves the excitement of giving — there’s something so special about finding or creating the perfect gift for someone.

Blends of Goodness started from her love of creating delicious seasonings and sauces for family and friends. What began as a passion project grew into a small business, and after retiring (like ), she decided to turn that passion into her full-time hobby. 

Today, she hand-blends their products in small batches with lots of love and a whole lot of goodness! Check out her booth at the Carney Craft Fair on November 14 and 15.

Holly from HollyHopperMade started her sewing business when she retired. It has been her life-long passion to design and create clothing for all walks of life. Her showcase products include wool capes, designer shirts, unisex clothing and more.

Come by the craft fair on November 14 and 15 to see her beautiful work in person!

Meet Linda Swain of West Coast Woolies, one of the awesome vendors who will be at the Carney Craft Fair in November. Linda has been selling at the craft fair for about 15 years (wow!) and says her favorite thing about Christmas is EVERYTHING! She knits beautiful button cowls and pieces quilted Christmas stockings. She loves making things and says nothing makes her happier than seeing other people enjoy what she makes.
