π September brings Apple Explorations! Here we are exploring and enjoying activities based on apples. π A-P-P-L-E π What color apples do you see? Letβs take a look at the inside, how many seeds can you count? Where does it grow? Which one is bigger? What can you make with apples? How does it taste, is it sweet or sour? How do we safely hold a (child safe) knife? Lots of discussions happening this week about apples! Yum!

Rain or shine, we go out every day for fresh air and exercise. We love zipping around with the ride-on cars, playing on the playground, looking for bugs, in the sandbox or just running around kicking the soccer ball in our large outdoor play space.

For those in our community who are able to help + contribute to this devastating loss. Families of PoCo support you πβ€οΈ
We are launching a school supplies collection at Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC), Hyde Creek (HC), and City Hall until October 31 to help support the staff, students, and teachers of Hazel Trembath Elementary School.
Our community always pulls together in times such as this and I encourage everyone to donate however they can to help support the students, staff and teachers from Hazel Trembath School.
I am always inspired by the resilience, kindness, and community spirit of Port Coquitlam. We will continue to support Hazel Trembath as best we can.
Residents can simply place supplies in the bins located at PCCC, HC, and City Hall. Please bring school supplies only. Food or canned goods, gift cards, monetary donations, or clothing will not be accepted.
School District 43 Foundation is accepting monetary donations. Donations can be made online at https://ow.ly/UIUv50PXku0.
Thank you to our community for the outpouring of support and offers to help. City staff will continue to work with the School District 43 (SD43) on ways the City can support the staff, students and teachers during this difficult time.
The full list of whatβs accepted and whatβs not is available at https://www.portcoquitlam.ca/media-releases/city-encourages-residents-to-donate-to-hazel-trembath-school/

Yes β€οΈ
We may have the opportunity to meet someone famous or very influential.
But in my opinion, this is the highest honor.
To have a child run to you in the morning because they are so excited to see you.
To have them take your hand and just stand with you.
To have them crawl onto your lap and relax for a while.
A child knows who they can trust, and who they can count on, and I am so honored that today, It was me
