We love to be in the kitchen and we are looking forward to soooooo much more cooking this upcoming year! Last year we loved rainbow toast, made our own pasta sauce and noodles, practiced chopsticks with rice, made heart shaped pizza, combined our efforts for vegetable soup, mashed soooo many potatoes and of course made our famous BREAD (more than a few times!). Quesadillas, oliebollen, nachos, crackers, homemade butter (shaken to perfection by over a dozen kiddos!), homemade ice cream, smoothies, pizelles, chili and much, much more. We also got to sample so many dishes from around the world thanks to our wonderful and diverse families!
From simple to complex, we love to cook with our littles to inspire confidence, foster connection, learn science, work on our fine motor skills, try new things and of course... EAT! I wonder what we will make this year? :)
Class starts September 1st, but you can register anytime (spots are limited). For more information, email us at [email protected] and let us give you a call back. No questions too small! You can also visit www.parksites.ca for more information.
So excited to be back in the kitchen this fall!

Benjamin Bear gets around in the summer too! He is looking forward to meeting our new kiddos in September.... before he hibernates for the winter. :)
One of our favorite traditions will be back this spring as Benjamin visits with all the children for a night they will remember for YEARS (ask anyone!). If you know, you know! He is out and about getting a bath this weekend and a brand spanking new upgraded suitcase!
If you have fond memories of Benjamin, let us know! We have journals going back DECADES. Should we post a few entries? :)

We adore our friends at PACE Farm and their philosophy! Our children have observed and adored their animals for years and years. Littles under 2 are free! We are looking forward to going with our whole class this year, we highly recommend a visit all seasons!
There's something that we've been wanting to say for a long time...
We've finally put into words what we've been thinking, feeling and living since day one at PACE Farm. Our philosophy. Our manifesto. The beliefs that shape every decision we make — how we care for our animals, how we work the land, and how we sit with the hard parts.
A few things you'll find in it:
💚 We see life and death not as opposites, but as partners. Death on a farm is real. We don't hide from it — we try to honour it.
🐽 We don't castrate or sterilize our animals. We believe every animal has the right to live its full biological life.
🐓 Most of our animals roam freely — they come in every evening on their own, because they want to, not because they're forced to.
🌍 Everything we do is rooted in permaculture ethics: Care for the Earth. Care for People. Share fairly.
This isn't a perfect farm. But it's an intentional one.

Quelque chose qu'on voulait dire depuis longtemps...

We were so lucky to be visited by PACE Farm Mobile Farm today! The children loved petting and feeding the animals in our grassy area: the goats loved it too! 😀
