A HUGE thank you to MusiCounts! This year, Saint John Fisher Senior received a colossal grant of nearly $15,000 to help fund and expand our music program! The MusiCounts Slaight Family Foundation Innovation Fund provides schools across Canada with grants to implement or sustain contemporary, technology-forward, or culturally relevant music education programs.
MusiCounts is allocating $1.4 million to 96 schools across Canada, and we are incredibly proud to be one of just 11 schools in Quebec selected to receive this support.
The grant was used to purchase contemporary instruments and equipment that will help take our innovative Deep Music program to the next level — a program that, in large part, revolves around our ever-growing YouTube channel.
Better instruments → better musicians → better content → more inspiration and education → even better musicians… and the circle of life continues! 🎶
Our goal has always been to give students the tools, opportunities, and creative freedom to become musicians, creators, performers, and teachers themselves. This incredible investment will help us do exactly that and much more.

Once again, a MASSIVE thank you to MusiCounts for believing in our vision and investing in our students. This grant will be a tremendous boost to the Deep Music program, and its impact will be felt by countless students for many years to come.

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers, this would not be possible without you.
Enjoy the many pictures,

Over the past two years, Lyrics and Lemonade has brought the West Island community together for a wonderful afternoon of music, family, and fun, while raising nearly $15,000 for The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

On behalf of The Children’s, we’re incredibly grateful for the generosity, creativity, and community spirit behind this event. It’s wonderful to see a local initiative that brings families together while making such a meaningful difference for sick children and their families.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 5th, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at Northview Park in Pointe-Claire. As always, kids and teens will be pouring lemonade and singing their hearts out on the big stage with professional sound! This year, both the SJF and Deep Music Rock Bands will be performing (starting at 1:30) along with a host of acts involving former SJF students!

I’m happy to help spread the word about this wonderful community initiative and hope you’ll consider joining Lyrics and Lemonade for what promises to be another fantastic afternoon.

If you’d like to learn more about the event or make a donation to support this year’s fundraising efforts, you can do so here:

Bring your lawn chairs and a friend, and come enjoy some great music, lemonade, and community spirit! 🥤🎹🎸🥁🎤

Thank you again for your support!
