Today, Clearpoint came together to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Our students participated in Junior and Senior assemblies where they learned about residential schools and reflected on what it means to acknowledge the truth and move forward in reconciliation.

Throughout the school, students also created feathers completing the phrase, “At school, every child deserves to feel…” and painted rocks with messages of hope, kindness, and resilience to line our school’s entry walkway.

Today was about more than remembering. It was about listening, learning, and recognizing that reconciliation is something we all have a role in carrying forward. 🧡

Tomorrow is Truth & Reconciliation Day. We will be observing this day with a JR and SR assembly. We are also asking the students to wear orange, if they have. Thank you 🧡

Meet Ishi! 🪨

This month, our IB Learner Profile attribute is Balanced! During Ms. Barroca's classroom visits, students have been talking about what it means to feel balanced and what we can do when big feelings throw us off.

We also read the book "Ishi" by: Akiko Yabuki linked in the comments below. Ishi is a special little rock who reminds us to slow down and find our balance. 💛

Students are now invited to participate in an optional "Balanced" challenge by;

(1) Creating and adopting their own Ishi! (with parent permission, of course!)
(2) Complete the Ishi activity sheet and sharing what helps them feel balanced. (Students received the activity sheet in class but it is also linked in the comments below.)
(3) Return the bottom portion to their teacher to earn a Balanced Pride Tag when Ms. Barroca visits again in a few weeks!

Can’t wait to see all of our Clearpoint Ishis and hear how our students find their balance! 💛

Our Clearpoint World Cup of Soccer was the perfect grand finale to the school year! With 11 games taking place at the same time, students from every grade came together to celebrate teamwork, connection, and show their Clearpoint spirit. What a great memory for the last day of school!
