What if age wasn't a limitation, but an invitation to rediscover yourself?
Recently, I attended a wonderful event at the West Island Women's Centre featuring two remarkable women: Talia Brott, World Champion swimmer, and Mae Waldie, a 92-year-old master's swimmer.
One part of Talia's story particularly resonated with me.
After two decades away from the sport while raising a family and building a career, she returned to swimming.
What followed was extraordinary.
Not simply because she became a World Champion, but because she chose herself again.
As I listened to Talia and Mae share their journeys, I was reminded that empowerment isn't about age, titles, medals, or achievements.
Sometimes it's about reconnecting with a part of yourself that has been waiting patiently for your return.
I left feeling inspired myself.
Maybe it's finally time for me to get into the pool and learn a proper front crawl. 😊
And to think, I have two swimmer athletes in my own family!
I'm thrilled that Talia will be joining us as a panelist at the EmpowerHer Summit this October.
Talia, maybe I'll see you at the pool. 🏊♀️
What is one thing you've always wanted to try, or return to, but haven't yet?
Because, you know, it's never too late. ❤️

Happy Father's Day ❤️
Today, I'm holding my Tato and my brother Walter especially close in my heart.
Some of the people we deeply love are no longer with us, but they never leave our lives. Their love, their influence, and their presence continue in ways both seen and unseen.
Today, I imagine Tato and Walter celebrating Father's Day in Heaven with my sweet Danylo, and that warms my heart.
Wishing all fathers, here and in our hearts, a beautiful Father's Day.
Forever and always my Tato ❤️

I didn't go looking for an action partner... but guess what? It found me.
What began as an innocent conversation with someone I connected with so well evolved into an action partnership that has become one of the practices I value most.
Every two weeks, Gerald L'Ecuyer and I meet. We begin by celebrating our wins, because progress deserves to be acknowledged. Then, we identify three commitments we want to honour before we meet again.
Simple.
Powerful.
Consistent.
This week, I shared this practice with my Career Planning students and encouraged them to consider finding an action partner of their own, someone within the cohort or someone they already trust.
Because while ownership of our goals rests with us, chances are that if we never speak them out loud, we may end up burying them before we've even given them a chance.
Life gets busy.
Doubt creeps in.
The urgent takes precedence over the important.
And the hopes and dreams that once lit us up quietly move to the back burner.
Accountability isn't about someone checking up on you or keeping score.
It's about having someone who believes in your vision, celebrates your progress, gently nudges you forward, and reminds you of the promises you've made to yourself.
I've learned that vision gives us direction.
Action moves us forward.
And having someone alongside us can make all the difference.
Perhaps that's the beauty of staying open to what life places in our path. Because sometimes, what we need arrives in forms we never expected.
Ownership rests with us. But we don't have to do it alone.
Maybe it's time to let someone in on your hopes and dreams. You never know what becomes possible when you do. 💛

A room with a view…. more than that.
Last week, something unexpected happened.
Our daughter happened to be in the neighbourhood where our very first family home was located — the home we purchased in 1994, the home where we brought our baby Danylo home. She noticed a “For Sale” sign on the lawn and sent me the listing.
As I scrolled through the photos, I was overcome with emotion. After 28 years, so much of the home looked exactly the same — the kitchen, the floors, the cabinets… even the carpet.
And then I saw it… Danylo’s room.
Now a small office space with a desk by the window, yet somehow after all these years, the soft yellow walls and the original baby wallpaper border were still there. Untouched.
I actually had to look twice.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. After 28 years, the room looked almost exactly the same. It felt surreal… almost like it was meant to stay.
I just sat there in awe.
The light pouring through that window felt so familiar, like a quiet reminder that love leaves traces… and that some souls never truly leave us. Even after all this time, his presence still finds its way through the light, through memories, through moments you never expect.
Today would have been Danylo’s 28th birthday.
And somehow, finding pieces of him still there after all these years felt deeply symbolic. A gentle reminder that love does not disappear with time — it changes form, settles into the spaces around us, and continues to find us when least expected.
Happy Birthday to our baby Danylo. 🤍
For he is, and will always be, my angel.👼 ❤️

Sometimes the moments that unsettle us are the very ones that redirect us.
I’m looking forward to joining the McGill Alumni (Coaching Series) this Thursday, May 21st from 12:00-1:00 for a conversation on navigating change with courage and care.
In a world that continues to shift and evolve, many of us are navigating transitions; in our careers, our identities, our priorities, and our lives. While change can feel uncomfortable and uncertain, it can also become the very space where growth, clarity, and new possibilities emerge.
Together, we’ll explore:
• How we personally respond to change
• Ways to reframe uncertainty and strengthen resilience
• The importance of community, connection, and support during transition
• How to lead ourselves with courage, care, and intention
What makes this session especially meaningful for me is that part of the story I share began during my own years at McGill University, a moment of unexpected change that ultimately redirected my path and shaped the work I do today.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow McGillians for what promises to be a thoughtful and engaging conversation.
Registration is free, join in the conversation:

It doesn’t have to be Mother’s Day to celebrate motherhood 💛
This past week has reminded me just how grateful I am to still share moments with my beautiful mother at 92 years old, alongside my sister and loved ones, and the many people I’ve connected with through stories of love, loss, resilience, and hope.
Motherhood lives in so many forms, in presence, in memory, in guidance, in sacrifice, and in the quiet moments we hold close to our hearts.💕
Today, I’m simply feeling grateful for love that continues across generations, and for the gift of being both a daughter and a mother.
Wishing a beautiful Mother’s Day to all who celebrate, remember, nurture, and carry love forward 💛
Happy Mother’s Day ❤️🌺
