The Listuguj Mi'gmaq Development Centre are looking for a Project Coordinator to join their ranks!

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre (LMDC) is seeking a motivated and community-focused Project Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of employment, training, and workforce development initiatives.

Some Key Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:

-Coordinate projects, maintain timelines, and ensure objectives are achieved.

-Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and address client training/employment needs.

-Research, identify, and coordinate workshops, training opportunities, and skills development programs for youth and adults.

-Coordinate facilitators, schedules, registrations, and logistics for training programs and workshops.

The position acts as a key contact to ensure documentation is completed, information flows efficiently, and participant progress is monitored and communicated.

🌿✨ Celebrating Voices, Stories, and the Strength of Our Language ✨🌿

On May 20th, Year 2 students presented biographical interviews to first-language speakers and their classmates. These interviews served as the students’ final project presentation. Each interview showcased the students’ dedication and growth, as well as the living spirit of our language.

Students were interviewed in Mi’gmaw, sharing their personal biographies with us, reflecting on their language learning journeys, and speaking about their hopes and plans for the future.

This meaningful event brought students and speakers together in a supportive, inspiring space where learning was celebrated, relationships were strengthened, and new connections were made.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make this gathering so special. Your voices help shape a stronger future for our language and our community.

LMDC Marks 30 Years with Expansion Plans - On May 6, 2026, the LMDC reached an important milestone—30 years of programming and service to the Listuguj community!!!

Over these past three decades, LMDC has assisted thousands of clients in reaching their goals, building careers, and reconnecting with their Mi’gmaq language and culture.

While we had planned to celebrate this special occasion, the festivities have been postponed to next year while the LMDC goes through major upgrades and expansion.

The LMDC facility, originally built in the early 2000’s, will soon be expanded to improve learning and workspaces. Construction is set to begin next Monday, June 8, 2026. This project will add four new classrooms, including a flexible sewing room, a learning kitchen, a cultural room and three offices. These new spaces will allow LMDC to offer more programs and events for the community.

Attached are the 3D images that show what these new spaces will look like.

The LMDC Team looks forward to welcoming everyone to a celebration once this project is complete. Stay tuned—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!!

We are currently hiring for two positions at the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n 2 (MU2) Wind Farm:

If you’ve been thinking about getting into the wind energy field, this is a great opportunity to get started. Minimal experience is required for the Service Technician role. Nordex North America will provide all training needed, and employees will be paid from the start of training.

These opportunities are being shared first with members of Micmacs of Gesgapegiag, Nation Micmac de Gespeg, and Listuguj Mi'gmaq Government before opening more broadly next week.
