The Alaqsite’w Gitpu School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Assistant (EA) who will be responsible for providing academic and behavioral support services to students in a school setting.

The duties of an EA will vary depending upon the needs of the student(s). The incumbent will work collaboratively with teachers to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Listuguj Mi'gmaq Government are looking for an Intervention Support Worker to join their ranks!

Under the supervision of the Methods and Resource Coordinator, the Intervention Worker is responsible for assisting students who require on-going, long-term support through Individualized Education Plans developed by the Special Education team.

The Intervention Worker may be called upon to work together with members of an individual student’s in-school team.

While the composition of this team will vary according to the individual student’s needs, it typically consists of those people who are involved with the student on a daily basis at Alaqsite’w Gitpu School.

The Listuguj Education Directorate announces August 4, 2026, as the start of the Sneaker and School Supplies Reimbursement program, and it will run until November 30, 2026.

Full-time elementary and secondary school students residing in Listuguj and confirmed on the school’s Confirmation of Enrolment (Nominal Roll) are eligible. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) requires that student files include the latest report card and a valid ID (Medicare, birth certificate and status card).

All original receipts and updated student information must be attached to the Reimbursement form. The reimbursement and EFT forms can be picked up at the Education Complex or downloaded on our website linked below.

Payments will be issued through direct deposit. If you have questions or need to update banking information, contact the LMG Finance Department.

AGS students are eligible for sneaker reimbursement, while Provincial school students will be reimbursed for both. The maximum amount reimbursed is based on the student’s grade.
Nursery to Grade 5: $100
Grades 6-8: $110
Grades 9-12: $120

These procedures shall be reviewed annually and may be amended from time to time. The amendments shall be approved by the Director of Education.
